Could you do the beauty of Angel Heart? It has gorgeous visuals and is a very underrated film. It stars a young Mickey Rourke and a supporting appearance for Robert De Niro. It is a very dark film that will keep you hooked as the story continues to twist your perspective.

My only issues with the sequels was that I thought anything with the extra characters on Zion was pretty bland and awful with the dialogue. Also I wasn't to happy with the way they killed off Trinity but other than those two issues yeah all pretty good but I still think the first is far and away the best.

You know, whenever I look at the sister's work I'm fascinated. Whether I find it good or not, I have a huge respect for their creativity and... sincerity. There's really something so honest about what they do, that no matter the film they always believe in their world and their concept. It's in fact why I think speed racer and cloud atlas work, they walk a fine line, but they manage to make it work and make some awe-inspiring, sometimes sad, sometimes heartwarming, but always moving stories. Oh unrelated but fun fact: as it was shot in sydney, the first film re-uses sets from Dark City. I just find that detail neat.

The Matrix Trilogy has actually grown on me more the older I’ve got. I was 9 when the first one came out and remember watching it on VHS with my family before moving on to the sequels when they came out so it was very much a case for me at the time that they were good action movies. I rewatched them a month ago and realised that there’s so much more depth to them and how the Wichowski’s actually did a fantastic job of questioning things without being preachy about it. The raised the question on whether choice is real, the effect of causality and even from a story perspective who is really good or bad. As a child I thought the oracle had humanity’s back but when rewatching the movies I realised she’s just another program and her end goal is still to control the humans. Everyone assumes Neo won at the end and saved humanity but if you rewatch it he actually came to the realisation that choice doesn’t exist hence why he let Agent Smith absorb him. With Xion being another form of control for the machines mankind isn’t actually free either. The Architect and the Oracle are essentially ting and yang with the real evil being the Merovingian. I can’t wait for the fourth one to come out. Guarantee the Merovingian is the big bad of it all.

For me, the matrix trilogy is like a concessive sentence, like: You're right, oranges are great, but apples are better. The Matrix is the concessed idea, Realoded is the "but" and revolutions is the actual meaning of the sentence. If you only liked the first Matrix, then you understood the opposite of what the trilogy was trying to tell you.
