First boat I ever sailed, and honestly, it's one of my favourites. Simple, compact, and pretty stable. I'm not sure I'd fit in one these days 😂

@GalaxyFox1414 they were the best. People don't give them enough credit. I remember getting in loads of trouble because I had sailed mine miles out the bay beyond the sight of my parents when I was about 15. They were furious, but I had one hell of an adventure 😅

@@houseofsolomon2440 I was 5 when my father put me into the Opti so I had to grow into Laser/ILCA. But it came in handy because in both classes you can play a lot with your weight and your position in the boat. I still love the Laser's 🤙

I literally just went and did this in 15 knot winds… i didn’t think these things could plane, especially with a fully grown adult. I was wrong. Also, i flipped right as i got home cuz someone tried talking to me and I lost focus. Went 7 miles in 3 hours out 😂

yea, it's beacause they are on a reach. Also, it heavy wind, you want your board up a little bit so you can slip side ways if you get over powered.

When you can get your boat to plane, you can exceed the theoretical hull speed. That is, your hull is no longer displacing water. It is riding on top of, planing on the surface of the water where there is less resistance.
