One of my oldest friends died a couple of months back. Instead of sitting around playing music he loved, like in "the olden days", someone started a Spotify playlist and invited people to contribute. This was one of the songs I contributed, because we both loved The Hummingbirds.

Thank you, dear god! I found this! In the very early 90-s this video was shown on the central TV in the USSR and I saw it. Now, 30< years later it hit me back... I was excited then, I'm excited now, although this time I understand the lyrics. Love you guys!

I remember buying LoveBUZZ in 89, the day it came out and playing it all night. A year later I left it with 200 albums at a friend's house (Randall?) and left for the US. Never went back - I wonder if he still has my records?

At first I thought it was filmed at The Evening Star hotel in Surry Hills (Sydney). I remember one night, getting an electric shock from one of the (similar looking) microphones, taped to a stand. I was already nervous, but I kept singing. The show must go on.. (Until the power shorts out,I suppose.Ouch.)

Mark C Yes the Palace Hotel (corner of Flinders and South Dowling St) Darlinghurst! (or was that Surry Hills?) Our early gigs were at the Palace since it was owned by a friends father. The Palace quickly built up a reputation for great gigs by many bands. Initially it was a stepping stone to the Hopetoun Hotel and later the Trade Union Club (if you were lucky). But as things progressed it was equal to the Hopetoun in many ways. Many great memories from that little pub and those associated with it.
