My husband and I got married 6 months after meeting. We were married 37 years and couldn’t have kids, so we got ginormous dogs. Ray unexpectedly died at the end of 2020, I’m heartbroken, but I had the most amazing, loving husband and he’s in Heaven. I’m still a hot mess, but I’m able to talk about him without being hysterical. Day by day and sometimes hour by hour. One and done.

It’s wonderful to hear about couples who have worked to stay married & in love, especially during a time when marriage almost seems disposable to so many other couples. My parents have also been amazing role models in the same manner. They are currently less than a year away from 70 yrs of marriage. Unfortunately, my dad is in the last stages of hospice (cancer) & it is very clear that he won’t make it to those 70 years. My heart is completely broken, but I’m so proud of the way my mom is currently handling so very much. I can’t even begin to imagine the way our lives will be in the coming months. Please enjoy every moment you get together in the life you have created & earned as a family. Thank you for another happy thought that I will weave into others, including my happy family memories while we are trying to cope & move through the next short weeks we are given.

I was 19 and my husband was 20. Yes we heard the same thing as y’all did. The arrangement was that I would stay in college while my husband would work full time. First question asked was do you have to get married. The answer was no. We want to. I did become pregnant with our first child 9 months after we were married. His father told us that marriage is not a bed of roses. I answered back with that it was. A bed of roses have thorns. Things that do happen. We also heard that it would not last because we were too young and didn’t know what we wanted. We have been married for 46 years. Yes it has been rough and ups and downs. But would not have it any other way. If y’all would accept one thing about marriage, I would say for a successful marriage is to have God at the center of your marriage. Money means very little to us today. It is spending time together. Just love each other and ALWAYS tell each other that you love them everyday!!! Don’t get upset with little things and be very appreciative over thoughtful things.

We finally are back to the two of us again, and it’s great. I think people don’t realize that it’s really hard sometimes. You have to continually better yourself. Keep yourself interesting for each other. Learn to talk and listen. I wish people could all experience what it is to have this life partner, that always has your back. Is always there for you. And he was in the Navy, and left for a 7mo deployment right after our 1st anniversary. I agree, getting married young was the best decision we made, yes it was hard at times, but it lasted thru 8moves (including to Guam), 2 kids, and then I lost him to cancer just shy of our 45th anniversary. Everyone has, up's and downs in life and they will come at any age! Better to get married and be in love, and have the person you want. In my church everyone goes to college before they graduate from high school, and people get married younger. When you come back from your two year mission, and you have lot's, of college done it's not as hard. Me and my husband just turned 23 and that's kinda old, but we looked high school age. It's been wonderful to be by my husbands side, we have been married for 30 years and in every card ♦️ he gives me he says I wish I could of married you sooner ,so I could love you longer! And I feel the same! Getting married younger is natural, you don't have all the drama of having sex and dating a bunch! When you follow bGod and put him first , it will work out!

Marriage is not easy my dear. Who taught you to ride a bike ? Now who taught you (and your spouse)how to have a loving healthy relationship ? We just mirror what we know from childhood and that isn't always a good thing. Don't be hard on yourself or your husband. Be compassionate toward each other. In my opinion conflict resolution is the most important thing you can learn. No two people will see the same. Communicate without yelling, name calling or giving the cold shoulder. If you're upset talk when you've relaxed. Anyway I hope your marriage is a success

There is constructive arguing, (listing pros and cons to come to a final decision and expressing your feelings about each idea) and then there is attack arguing. Make sure you don't mentally or emotionally or psychologically attack each other when you disagree. I like to use the "This is what I heard you say, this is what I think you mean, is that correct?" conversation; so you never have misunderstandings or assume each others thoughts and feelings. You never want to think 20 years from now; at what point did I or my spouse become each others enemy. I love the way that both of you have learned to solve life's problems together and work together to make decisions. That is what a successful love story is all about. I love hearing your stories! Yes, it does give others strength to see that. You also give your viewers a lot to smile and laugh about in a discouraging world. Thank you for that.

I LOVE hearing your insights. I'm 39- been engaged three times(ouch- I know), never married, no kids. A while back I had this epiphany that not every person has a "soulmate" or is meant to be married.... And it changed my entire outlook on things. I rededicated my life to Christ and focused on building myself up. If someone comes along... Maybe we'll see. But at this point I'm so fiercely independent I don't see it happening. It's fascinating to see people so far on the other end of that spectrum. I NEVER watch "family vloggers"- they feel so artificial and money driven... But finding your shorts.... The love you have for one another and for tiny Jack dude radiates from you! The love of Christ is powerful within you and you're just such a breath of fresh air in this crazy KZbin world. All the best to you beautiful people!💖💖

Hi guys. The first time I got married, I was 21 and he was 24. We separated one week shy of our 2nd anniversary. I was way too immature for marriage. The second, and last time, I got married, I was 35 and he was 50. We've now been married 21 years, but it hasn't been easy. I found out in 2001 that I have some brain damage. When my mom was pregnant with me, she had 2 heart attacks in her 6th month. They really didn't know that much about brain damage back then, so I was labeled a difficult child. Now that I know, I'm constantly working on myself. I feel like I relate to Derek in that area. Keep working on yourself. It's all worth it in the end.

you two are SO much better equipped now to handle the lows & rough patches. always remember WHY you're together: you adore each other, you're best friends, & now you have a family. one should never want to hurt the other, especially deliberately. you're much stronger together because of this deep love you share. even external crises, like economic, pandemic, even if we experience shortages, & other bad scenarios... you'll be stronger to get thru it, together. when others panic or flip out in other ways, you keep your wits together & protect the family. I was so happy hear about you both being committed to your faith! I pray that God always abundantly blesses you, not necessarily with $, but with always strengthening you & protecting you. with Christ as your foundation, you'll have a wonderful life together. love you guys! so glad I found your channel. I'm a 60 yrs old, single now, soon to be GREAT GRANDMA (G-Nana or GG) we call it in our fam. I was young when married but it failed for VERY different reasons than many. I'll always cherish what we had and i adore my children and grandchildren. most of us are Christians, we have amazing relationships & love for those who either aren't there yet or may go a different path. I implore EVERYONE, no matter what your personal situation is, listen to these 2, see what they've built together as a family, & hear how they relate to one another. lessons all would do well to consider. Beestons: much love to you! stay happy & stay well. I'll remember you in my personal prayers. 🙏🏼😇

you two had the good juju between each other and the moral mojo to commit, something that is very rare in our generation. you also have the maturity and know how to use it to have it go well and support each other and love each through whatever life may hold. and talk to each other when it isn'xt working. and to truly value what you bring to the table for each other. Seriously impressed. keep on defying the trend.

I don't know where I've been on you tube and how I could have NOT discovered such a sweet, funny and positive family!! From the first video I happened to catch, I could see the beautiful light of God all over you and your precious baby! Oh my 🌟 stars! He is the happiest baby I've ever seen clearly because he knows how loved and secure he is!! And @60 yrs.old,I can tell that you have THAT element to make it.. come what may! Do any of us know what will happen even tomorrow? My heart ❤ melted in one of the videos that daddy was coming home as mommy and baby waited on the balcony! I heard Derek yell,"BUDDDIEEEE!!!" as he ran to you both! I rewound it at least 5 times and lol'd!! JOY is the best description upon meeting you and thank you for sharing! I sneak peeked ahead and by now,I think you have another gift from Heaven on the way..aawww!!! I have been blessed and look forward to catching up on where you have been and are now! Sending peace☮ love🥰 &harmony 🕊🌈🌏

So kind of you both to be so open and vulnerable ! I am an orthodox Jewish woman . We also get married fairly young and do not have sex before marriage. We often talk in our community about the first year being difficult and a huge adjustment. We don’t really view it as a “honey moon “ period . Continue growing together and may G-D bless you all with health , complete recovery , joy, laughter and all the good things He offers in this world !!!

I love your videos. My husband and I also got married at 19 and 20, 11 years ago. My family thought I was crazy, maybe I was. But we have lasted this long due to our undying love for each other. We’ve been through rough times but have gotten through them together. I went through a phase where I thought we wouldn’t be able to have kids but 9 years after we got married I found out we were finally pregnant and our little girl was born in May 2020 💜 and now we have baby girl #2 due in about a month. I love seeing how Jack is growing up and is the same age as our little girl. Every video I see of yours is so relatable and I love sharing them with my husband and having a good laugh. You guys are amazing and so blessed.

Can't tell you how RELATABLE this is and how reassuring it is. I remember someone I really look up to told me Christian marriages don't go through the honeymoon phase because the last thing the devil wants is for two people to work out their humility and become one flesh with one another in every sense. My husband and I are coming up on 2 years. And the first year was really hard. Lots of fights, but always an underlying true love of knowing we could and would get through it. Working out those emotional, spiritual, physical challenges up front has made us so much stronger and more harmonious in our second year of marriage. We are now finding a groove and a rhythm where respect and love trump the small frustrations etc. But point being....your experience I feel is so sober and reveals the real struggle of really cutting ones will to strengthen the marriage and partnership and learning to understand one another etc...All that stuff that is hard to work through, but creates a truly lasting marriage. Also LOVE your point that fights WILL HAPPEN. I am always skeptical when people say they never ever fight with their significant other. Fighting will happen. You just gotta fight fair and come out the other side together. Anyhow, you both seem so lovely and real and i've been enjoying your family videos and your baby journeys since we are expecting a little boy soon :) God bless you guys and your family and I really do wish ya'll the absolute best in life, marriage, and parenting :)

Nobody’s marriage is perfect and everyone fights but it is how u fight. Arguing and “fighting” is healthy if u are doing the right way and u still respect each other. Burying feelings or trying not to talk about issues or pretend they are not there is the sure way to get divorced. It is a testament to y’all’s love and resilience that u are growing and learning together. But in the same token, y’all are the exception and young people need to really think before they leap! Sounds like y’all had incredible family support which also helps when u get married that young and of course ur core beliefs are the same. And I believe that is very very important! Wishing y’all many more years of happiness and love!!!❤️

I was pregnant on my wedding day, while I married an eighteen-year-old and I was twenty. I totally know where Sarah is coming from because it is scary to put a lot of trust in someone to make sure our family was going to be secure. Now my husband is a fourth-year medical student going to be a surgeon soon and I am on my way to becoming a special education teacher. Life gets pretty complicated but it is also nice when people are genuine and honest about hard times because we all have them and instead of judging, it is nice to feel that we are not the only ones who are struggling.

Being transparent is so needed, y'all's honesty is an example to many. Suppressing feelings, instead of expressing them up front honestly, is what has caused so much destruction in marriages, families, friendships, business partners, Ministries, etc. Facing every issue head on chosing to put Jesus at the center of All circumstances & challenges brings understanding, healing, healthy communication, growth & mature relationship. God Bless You both for sharing your life, your testimonies, it does Minister Truth to many that are struggling. Your transparency let's others know they are not alone & that ignoring, giving up, stuffing or running away is not the answer. God Bless you both & your Family.

My son and Dil married at 18. Last year was their 25th anniversary. Both sets of parents tried to get them to just live together for six months. No. They wanted to get married. They didn't have to get our permission, and I wouldn't have stopped them. They've grown up together, had problems, and worked them out. They are still together, but they would be the first to tell you that God is at the front of their marriage. He's the reason they stayed together during the hard times, and enjoy the good times.

My husband and I were 20 and 21. I had just turned 20 in July when we got married in September. So many people said it wouldn't last (even though at that point we'd been dating for 2 years!)... We'll be celebrating our 15 year wedding anniversary this September!! Neither of us would change a thing, because it's made us who we are today. We grew up together, learned how to be an adult and have supported each other through everything! Marriage is extremely hard work, but with every effort that's put into it! The vows we spoke that day are very sacred, for which we don't take lightly! So, divorce is never an option for either of us! "For richer or poorer, for better or for worse, in sickness and in health" Kudos to you both for taking that leap of faith! 🥰 I feel like I should add that we started saying I love you after 1 week of dating and he proposed about 2 weeks after that. We graduated high school and after 2 years then got married. 🤗

I did everything backwards the first time. I got pregnant and gave birth to my firstborn in January. I turned 19 in March and got married to my baby’s father in April. That marriage lasted 10 years, and I think it it was because we were both too immature emotionally. I wanted the happily ever after family and I think he felt trapped. In comparison, you both seem so much more mature and ready, and have made a beautiful family that I see lasting forever. 1st year is always hard, but you both are well matched. You will be happily ever after. Congrats, and I LOVE getting to know you all. ❤️

Good decision girl about keeping fears aside regarding the unknown. Keep love, understanding, courage and support alive in your family and life will be worth a shot. This is for both of you dear young parents. Don't be scared, fears should not have any space in one's life. I support your life's decision - marriage and Jack at young age. Just be calculative enough for each aspect of your lives, and be prepared for the fluctuations of life. Three of you are lovely souls and don't worry everything will be great... Last but not least - COMMUNICATION solves many many issues. Be open to talk to each other about issues, meaningful communication. Husband and wife are the main pillars of any family.... Keep things strong among yourselves. Loads of love to all of you esp. "Jack the heart stealer" 💕
