Seeing this reminds me of mine and makes me wanna share it. On #2 tooth, I had a very small cavity in the back that was "repaired" 3 years ago after having my wisdom teeth removed. Current dentist (totally different guy) did some x-rays to repair some issues the other guy caused, and he said my #2 tooth looked "funny" in the x-rays. He described it as looking like it had micro fractures or crush damage. The plan was to put a crown on it anyway so it would be strong with whatever was wrong. Went to a specialist who did a root canal, and I heard her mention "rot". My dentist got in there to prep it for the crown and said he found more decay and cavity. They told me basically the whole tooth was filled with cavity. There was barely enough left to set the crown on. But they did it! They worked so hard to save it because I had a worse issue on the opposite side and they wanted me to have at least one good side to chew on. They fixed all my issues tho. Really. I went from despising dentist cus of what the one guy did, and bad attitudes, to being overjoyed. I'm happy to brush now and no pain. I can floss with no pain. And I wanna go for regular cleanings because I'm so happy with my teeth. They even contoured my teeth after repairing the fillings from the other guy (who left them flat as hell). Other than being a little rough, I can't tell where the fillings/repairs were (fixed on my next cleaning). I'm glad to now have a dentist so skilled. It's well worth the 1.5 hr drive.

Can 8 just say its amazing to watch this because growing up everyone, especially my dentist just made me feel aweful for not brushing my teeth, never explained how or why these procedures worked, didn't listen to me when I was in pain, and did bad, basic cavity repair jobs. Now looking back I realize I deserved more.

I have absolute respect for any medical professional that does some kind of surgery... I could never work with such fine instruments upside down, using a mirror with a live patient who may not feel the pain because of the local, but having had a wisdom tooth pulled out by a maxiofacial surgeon several weeks ago, you can definitely still feel pressure and the noises can still make you think your in pain. But not even just dentists, but surgeons who do keyhole surgery and operate purely off of a camera with instruments they control way back up. Plus the steady hands surgeons need to have so they don't accidently nic the patient, especially in a situation like that where he's exposed the nerve and blood supply and could cause problems. Kudos to this dentist

This cavity makes me think of my (26 male) own that i got filled recently. #19, rot was so bad that a chunk had already fallen out. My dentist said that there was an extremely high chance of him clipping the pulp horn and having to change to a root canal. The assistant that day doesn't know me and we got into an argument about anesthetic. Me being severely afraid of needles and not liking nitrous, i wanted them to go ahead without any. But she said he would be too close to the pulp and didn't want me jump out move during the procedure. Before i could get a word in the dentist came back and said we were going to get started and asked if i wanted to go without anesthetic like normal. It had been 7 years since i last saw this guy and he remembered i don't like anesthetic. I said yes and the look on the assistant's face was hilarious. I got the filling done with only having winced really hard a few times. On my way out that assistant looked kinda depressed.
@poqqery8950 Жыл бұрын
While I can understand a fear of needles, that assistant was right to be worried. Accidentally drilling into living tooth pulp would have resulted in such unimaginable pain that you'd never forget it for the rest of your life.

Very lucky, a few more months and that tooth would of had no alternative, than a root canal or extraction. I was lucky myself. I had a deep cavity on an upper left 4 (pre molar), I hadn’t been to the dentist in 4 years! She took x-rays and said it was probably going to need root canal treatment, my heart dropped! I managed to avoid a root canal, though, in the end, when my dentist got it in there and cleaned it up, she said it was very close to the nerve but had removed the decay, she said she would put the medicine in the tooth anyway, just to be safe, to kill any minor residual bacteria. She used an amalgam filling on mine, I did ask for a white one but she said amalgam would be much stronger in a high traffic area, as composite needs something to bond to and who am I to question a professional?! I will never skip an appointment again, huge wakeup call! Unusually, I didn’t have any pain before or after treatment. Love your videos, Mr Bentist!

While doing so they did a bad job and shaved my one down just about even with the rest of my teeth while the rest are noticeably longer. Ever since sometimes when I eat it feels like I’m being shocked in that one tooth. It doesn’t hurt it’s just uncomfortable. Can shaving down teeth make them Sensitive?

hello! and I hope you read this comment. Out of curiosity, every time I get a cavity filled I always feel pain and everything that is done to my teeth. I've had to get multiple doses of local anesthesia and even then I could still feel pain on my tooth. Is this a problem with my, my dentist, or the process and what do you recommend I do next time I need to get another filled? The experience really makes me want to avoid visiting a dentist. Cheers!
@clarabittencourt81692 жыл бұрын
Hello, i'm also a dentist and i can answer that for you too( if you dont mind) Actually, it may be a problem with the type of anesthesia they are using or maybe they are not hitting the right spot with the needles. Each teeth we have to numb in different spots, and some people are imune to some types of anesthesia or need higher doses. I've had some patients with the same issue, and mostly of the time, just using another type of anesthesia worked like a charm. So maybe you could ask for the dentists to change it.

Ouch, Luckily that tooth was already filled by her about 7 years ago, so it was a little stronger than it would've normally been and only chipped a small layer of enamel off it. However now, the tooth that she filled is extremely sensitive and even touching it kina hurts. Its apparently fine and shouldn't be hurting but it is.. I dunno what to do about it.
