For a moment jinx really thought it was her so we literally saw Vi's face for only a second and then changed to the girl's actual face.

You really missed what Jinx was saying to Silco in episode 4, because she literally states that chick was not Vi, "One of those Firelight wackos was a girl, with pink hair." Thats what triggered Jinx, the physical similarity was to great and Jinx's brain went into fight, flight, or freeze mode. As a child Powder would go into freeze mode, as seen when the kids got into the fight in the first episode with the other gang of children she freezes and sinks to the ground. Now thats she grown up that has evolved into fight mode, as seen in episode 4, 5, and 6, when threatened Jinx will become aggressive and prone to violence.

Poor Powder/Jinx is written off as “crazy” or “insane” or “mental” or whatever but she kinda got left behind (on accident because Vi tried to get back to her but was arrested) and raised by Silco (who is the main antagonist >:D) and she shows signs of schizophrenia, BPD, and PTSD. Girl has trauma and that has obviously changed her, so thanks for coming to my TEDTalk where I explain why Jinx isn’t evil, just in need of help

I'd say that she is both in need of help and also evil, just a different kind of evil then we usually get in stories. The tragedy is that she isn't a monster, isn't inherently bad, and even had a good heart, and still becomes Jinx. The circumstances of the world gave her legitimate trauma, and even though her actions are evil, they are understandable, and we can't say that we would do any better in her situations. Its easy to be angry at Jinx's actions, but show makes you learn to be root for her, but be angry at the circumstances that led to her existence. ...kinda like Silco, but that's a whole different TED talk.

She may not have been evil in the beginning, but she definitely is now. Regardless of her mental illness she CHOOSES to kill people, and has even come to enjoy it. When she tells Vi in episode 6 "Things changed when you left. I changed." It's because she knows that she's done terrible things of her own volition, and she's scared that Vi won't love her anymore because of the things she's done. She wasn't forced to kill people, she wanted to because she wanted Silco to love her. When she says in episode 9 "I thought maybe you could love me like you used to, even though I'm... different." She's talking about Vi loving her even though she's a killer, not because she's crazy. Everyone had a hand in making Jinx what she is now, but her own choices also led her here. She's the monster they created, but she also CHOSE to be that monster.

@@xanadu6784 i mean lots of villains in media aren't inherantly evil, they just aren't properly fleshed out to show it. Take Firelord Ozai. Aang had this quite in S3E6 that goes: "Roku was just as much firenation as Sozin was right? If anything, their story proves anyone is capable of great good and great evil". Everyone thinks of Ozai as inherently evil because we didn't see how he was affected in his childhood, outside of having a dad who was willing to order him kill his own son. But I'm sure that he was also fucked up in his own childhood, and so was Azulon. It's called the cycle of abuse. Silco and jinx we see the traumatic events of, and the classist system they live in. While most villains are oppressors, society doesn't really contribute to their trauma in that case.

1. Viktors condition of detriment is caused by the undercity's toxic fumes and water he was exposed to as a child finally taking full effect on his body. That's why he was so dead set on using Hextech to help the undercity. 2. Vi was believed to be dead because that is what Marcus (the guy who is the head of the police in Piltover, the guy with the daughter) told him. Truth was he instead stored in prison. 3.i can't wait for you to watch the last Act because it answers a lot of questions as well as having some really stellar quotes. 4. The time skip is 7 years if that helps to know. 5. The guy who helps Caitlyn in the under UNDER city (where all the Shimmer addicts live) he was in the first episode where Vander helped him get the proper pay (its the 2nd time we see Vander in the show). He knew Vi because her father helped him a lot.

Marcus is such an underrated character imo. That coin they showed with the blood on it, was the same one from back then. You can tell Marcus has extreme guilt over what he had done. He admits Grayson is a good women when his daughter asks who she was. He's just in too deep to really get out of working for Silco and he doesn't want her to be left without a father or harmed. Just a well written character overall. Great reaction and can't wait till you see the final arc!

The characters are complex, yes, but the writing is very good, you just gotta maximize your attention to listen to what's happening to understand everything. I would recommend you to watch Georgia Dow's videos on Arcane to understand more of the psychology of the characters.

I'm not sure she cared that much at this point. She admires Jayce and finds him attractive but I don't think she cared too much during the sex scene. She was more angry because of her wounded pride than because she cared. I believe she starts caring when he emotionally opens up to her in the painting scene, she really didn't expect it, she doesn't even understand why someone embroiled in the same political game she is would do that but it clearly affects her, the fact that he truly is the person he appears to be and doesn't really hide behind a mask like the rest of them do, that he's willing to be vulnerable to her of all people.

New VAs: - Caitlyn - Katie Leung - Jinx - Ella Purnell - Sevika - Amirah Vann As I’m sure you figured out already, the pink haired girl with the Firelights was not Vi. She had pink hair so Jinx thought she was for a brief moment. I love that Cait is buff too. -- Episode 5 -- Again, as you probably already figured out, that was a flashback to Cait’s childhood where Greyson was her mentor. So yes, she’s still dead. One of the writers (Amanda Overton) shared a tweet that they had a little more to that brothel scene where Cait was chatting up that girl. “WOMAN: I have to say, it’s always nice to meet another curious woman. She means hot. She’s laying it on. Caitlyn’s got her primed for secret spilling, but - She notices Vi is gone. Shit. Caitlyn leaves a disappointed woman in her wake.” They cut it because they found they could convey that same feeling with just that shot of Cait and her talking, and they wanted to preserve the surprise of Cait saving Vi’s ass. But… Cait has game. She knows exactly what she’s doing. Goddess of the Hunt, this one. Lol The Vi vs Sevika fight is pure cinema. Love it so much. Contender for my fav, easy. -- Episode 6 -- The guy is from episode one, and he’s the one that Vander helped. Speaking of that, the hug is one of my favorite Cait moments and it’s what sealed in my love of her character. She has such a big heart and just wants to help everyone. It’s such a sweet moment. It’s why her and Vi tie for my fav character. Gotta give props to Jinx’s VA. She goes from sweet and broken to deranged and angry very well. While Heimerdinger is kind of the only non-corrupt council member and can technically be considered a good person… he really was not a good leader. He’s allowed the Undercity to become what it is. He’s ignored them almost entirely and he really has lost touch with how short a human lifespan is. Viktor especially doesn’t have a decade to “perfect the research.” He’s literally listening to music without a care while the rest of the council makes shady deals in the box seats.

The reason the shimmer is in Sevika's left arm is because it powers a mechanical body part replacement. She lost her left arm back in episode 3 when she jumped in front of the blast to save Silco. Hence the "I think we got off on the wrong arm" from Jinx, since she's the one who blew it off.

This series is great in the subtle arts. Glances, flashes, staging of scenes all play a part. You did pick up on the weirdness between Silco and Jinx that I had initally but upon watching it again, it's totally a father daughter thing. It's just that Jinx is very clingy. Silco does nothing to instigate it. It wasn't Vi in the ship raid. Just a girl with pink hair that triggered her.

The girl Jinx shot wasn't Vi. She had pink hair, and looked a little similar to her when she was younger, and it triggered Jinx. She said it later when she was talking to her hallucination of Milo, you might have talked over it. And Vi didn't ditch her sister, she needed space to get a handle on her emotions seeing as she had just found out Powder was directly responsible for Milo and Clagger's death. She didn't wanna hurt her sister again after punching her and saying things she didn't mean.

Hi! As I've said under ur previous Arcane reaction, I really love ur reactions and I've missed seeing u react to animated tv shows. So I want to recommend some in case u'd wanna do more. So here's my list of worthy shows that I'd gladly see u react to: 1.) The Legend of Vox Machina - a great adult show based on actual DnD campaign with interesting characters and arcs. It's quite gory though. 2.) Infinity Train - a great series with complex and interesting world and characters. Incredibly unique. 3.) Adventure Time - I'm really risking putting it here since it has 10 whole seasons and might seem episodic to an unexpirienced eye. But I believe every single episode of it has a purpose, even if it's hard to notice in the 1st 2 seasons.

Vi didn’t mean to ditch Powder, she just needed a second to think, but Marcus the dumbass gassed her and arrested her before she could help. I wish people would stop vilifying Vi, she isn’t the bad one, it was years of Silcos manipulation and unhelped trauma and mental disorders that made Powder turn into Jinx. And then Vi was trapped in a prison for years with the thought of her sister being possibly killed or tortured by Silco haunting her head, along with the constant pain and suffering she endured by the guard. They were both hurt, they both have trauma, but people have a clear biased thought on Vi being the bad one because of one mistake that she clearly regretted immediately.

The woman that died is a different character from Sevika. She was an enforcer and Cait’s mentor as shown in the flashback, whereas Sevika worked for Vander and now Silco. They look a little similar but they’re different lol

Yeah, you'd think their voices would tell the difference. Greyson has a very deep voice for a woman & she has a foreign accent, and Sevika's voice is still somewhat feminine with an American accent. They also have different hairstyles. Greyson has more gray in her hair and it's poofier than Sevika's. Sevika has straight hair & a little ponytail at the back. Confusion over the pink-haired girl is normal, the audience like Jinx is supposed to be confused about it. Some people get that it's not her immediately others after she is shot, no-one i've seen is still confused after Jinx explicitly explains how the girl looked like Vi but wasn't her. Did you just not watch that scene? Jinx sits on Silco's desk and tells him "there was a girl with pink hair that made me think of Vi". That and fact that a flashback confused you to the point that you thought Grayson was somehow alive again just baffles me. Did the young Caitlyn not indicate that it was in the past? I'm sure you are a lovely person and i wish all the best of luck but if you can't follow a narrative then your reaction is more frustrating than entertaining. To me at least.

I completely agree. I love watching people react to arcane but her inability to follow along is so irritating at this point. Ive seen people do reactions with weeks in between and still remember more details and follow along better than she does binging it. Seriously, being that confused with a flashback? a common narrative tool? Thats not good in general but especially with a show like arcane shes gonna end up missing SO MANY details.

girl i am begging you to rewatch this series and actually pay attention. You miss so many important details thats its not even funny anymore. - you missed EVERY detail that told you that girl wasn't vi, such as the face chance and jinx saying it wasn't her MULTIPLE times - apparently you forgot that Vi was going to go back to powder if marcus hadn't took her - You saw grayson and a YOUNG caitlyn in the same scene and ur mind went to "shes alive" instead of "this is a flashback, a common narrative tool" - you saying jinx was brainwashed basically everytime she was on screen is annoying. Being brainwashed and being traumatized are NOT the same. If you pay attention you can see that everything jinx does is due to her past trauma. -Jinx literally thinks of what vi told her before she uses the flair making it very obvious she wants her sister back, and ur STILL confused on if she wants vi to find her? What other purpose would the flair even have? I love watching people react to arcane but at this point im not even sure if ur even watching this or just spacing out constantly. Its like watching someone try to add 2 + 2 and they get 6 somehow. Ive seen reactors who only watch 1 episode a week follow the narrative better than you do watching the whole act at once.

12:30 yes it is that one arm, I missed the first time when she lost that arm defending Silco in ep. 3 actually, but it is a prosthetic. This is something known in League as Chemtech, it is Zaun's (the undercity) response to hextech, but as reflected by their living conditions, it is cheaper, and typically more volatile.

To answer what that accomplished (the crow shooting), jinx needs death to be meaningless, to be able to kill without reason or mercy. It's the only way she knows to cope with what happened in episode 3.
