Metallica - The Outlaw Torn FULL Guitar Cover

Finally, I've managed to get around in doing this beast of a song from the most underrated album EVER!!!!
Tuning is Std Eb
Although most of the riffs are easy to play, I spent a tremendous amount of time getting the sound and atmosphere just right. There are plenty of delays and reverb including softer distortions and volume swells that make this song what it is!! PURE GENIUS and MUSICIANSHIP! Metallica (James) has always inspired me when looking at the finer details of a song. Filling the gaps and adding extra stuff in a song, really makes it stand out from the rest.
As always, I used Emissary AMP Sims and Cab Sims and drum wise I utilize the MT2 Drums.

For sure the most underrated track ever written by Metallica. Alongside Fixxxer and Bleeding Me, the pinnacle of the Load era. Great work, the James outro jam is awesome, check out the version on The Memory Remains single with the uncut solo (one minute longer).

I agree, Bleeding me is also one of my fav's...when Load and re-load came out all my friends said, this sucks, Metallica sold out and went soft, but me being a hardcore Metallica fan, and a guitar player loved all of it..shit.., I was just happy for sum new music, and if you take the time to learn the songs like the other albums they would all see that these two albums were just as good as the others...just because they changed it up a little...fucking good shit man..

James is, without question, one of the greatest rhythm guitarist ever. He and Dime certainly have been major inspirations in the way that I approach guitar playing. That said, Kirk's rhythm section at 8:20 on this song is one of the most fucking evil sounding rhythms I've ever heard.

I used to get frustrated by people that hated on Load and Reload.. Now, I just feel bad. I feel bad they can't appreciate James at the height of singing ability, when he could belt it out without just screaming and wrecking his voice. His lyricism of going into some really deep and crazy, personal stuff. 2 records that at had higher production quality than any of their others before it. Some really amazing dual guitar work from James and Kirk, not just them playing the same guitar parts at the same time. Songwriting processes that further included the rest of the band. Shame people can't appreciate how special it is, and even Papa Het seems to look back and this era with less than pride about it..

I just learned this tonight watching a recent live vid they just posted. then after my fingers got sore, cuz I haven't played in awhile, I looked up this cover and noticed I was playing it the hard way, using full power chords instead of the short two string bar chords which you were doing...anyways..love this song and it's fun to play, easy to learn..even the solo..with the lyrics it's a powerful and heavy yet simple tune. their is no real amp being used in my videos. It's all just simulated vst plugins. So the presets are normally Emissary Amp Sim - NadIR Cab Sim - Custom created IR and some pre and post eq with a very light delay/reverb at the end.

There is nothing underrated about these albums, had it not been Metallica that did these albums they would have gone on to relative obscurity, good rock music but not metal, certainly not same quality as black album and earlier. I do enjoy them.
