I'm currently at a crossroads where I'm struggling to figure out exactly it is I want to do workwise, and feeling pressure to pick something right away and feeling torn as to which path to go down. As someone who, for a long time, has repressed things and pushed things to the side in order to keep going, it's difficult for me to be comfortable enough with feeling uncomfortable and working through that discomfort. I have an issue with vulnerabilty. I hate it. I hate looking weak or needing help. I hate spilling my problems to other people cause it's none of their business or not their burdens to worry about. I think for the longest time. Everyone came to me with their burdens. Now my patience for being everyone's free therapist has run thin. This hit really close...I have a coworker who I work closely with that has a very aggressive cancer early in treatment and our jobs have gotten more difficult on top of that, plus we have a micromanaging boss who thinks she is an empathetic listener but is not. I have been mentally and emotionally hanging by a thread for several months hoping things would get better for a multitude of reasons, making the right changes, and then this has happened. She goes into surgery next week and I'm doing two jobs for a few weeks. I just don't know what it means to let go and trust the process when I feel like I can't leave (and can't afford to)
