I hate Rachel but I don't think she's the worst lmao. You can love her if you want to. I hated her cuz of her personality not because the Internet told me to. When I saw season 1 I was like "I don't even get why they hate her she's just a bit arrogant" but I started to hate her more throughout the seasons but idk how you'll see her throughout the seasons though

This! I don’t even hate the girl she just has annoying tendencies that I’ve picked up on. Like I said it’s not enough for me to hate her. But I’ve seen good qualities in her, and I didn’t agree with how Mr. Shue tried to give Tina the role when it was obvious it belonged to her. I’m only on ep 9/10. And I agree so far I’ve found myself saying she’s not so bad, but also saying she’s annoying.

i feel like every characters on this show is annoying tbh.. you can't just love a character from start to finish, they all mess up and have some weird storylines at times.. i mean, they're supposed to be high school students written by 30 years old men so you know.. they can't be perfect haha my faves are santana and brittany, and i don't like them/their storylines at times too but rachel gets the most "hate" and come off as the most annoying bc she's the main character and i feel like that with pretty much all main characters in tv show tbh i think the beauty of the show is that every characters are kinda relatable in some way and they're not perfect at all.. that's why when i was growing up, glee was my fave show, it basically raised me and the music is amazing

Yeah basically all the characters on the show are assholes who do mean/fucked up shit. The difference is that most of them get regularly punished for their asshole behavior, while Rachel mostly gets away with it or is even rewarded. The show is often trying to paint Rachel as being good or the victim, when most of the time she is clearly not. And I think that's why people don't like her.

@@laurine____7543 Literally the only time Rachel got punished instead of rewarded was when she tried to rig the election in Kurt's favor, aka one of the few times she did it for somebody else (unless you count her needing her best gay by her side or sth). But most of the other times? Certainly not. She still got the solo from Tina, there were no consequences for sending Sunshine to the crack house, etc.

I don’t think Rachel is the worst but she is really frustrating. Watching some of these scenes as an adult (I was in hs when glee was airing) I can see that a part of her problem is that her behavior is rarely challenged in a meaningful way. Her parents have told her she’s great constantly and sometimes Mr. Shue gets annoyed but otherwise he just keeps giving her solos. Her bad behavior rarely has consequences so honestly she has no incentive to change. She’s been so spoiled and overpraised that I think when the kids in glee get mad at her she just tells herself that they just don’t get her instead of that she needs to be less obnoxious. I don’t think it was okay that people were throwing slushees at her though nor do I think all those jabs about her appearance were warranted though. Glee couldn’t seem to make up its mind about if bullying was bad. Also I wasn’t mad at her for saying the ‘working on a pole comment’, god knows Santana said enough mean stuff to Rachel.

That’s why I’ve never been a fan of these vids, they’re usually made to convince people to hate a character that they personally hate. 5:50 She always goes to that. The minute she's told what she doesn't want to hear she goes to the 'you don't like me' or 'you're trying to punish me' or 'you're just jealous of me'. And Mr Shue (who I agree totally played favourites all the time - the number of times Rachel stormed out in season 1 she never was threatened with "you walk out that door, you're out of the glee club" not even when she came in with tape over her mouth, Mercedes does it once and is immediately threatened with being kicked out of the club) lets her get away with it and makes excuses for her every time, no wonder she blew it the minute she got a professional job. Over the years since I started watching this show I've stopped being able to like Mr Shue - not that he doesn't still have some good moments but all of a sudden he seems a lot more self-obsessed than I thought he was originally. And he deals unfair punishment - chiefly not suspending Rachel for sending Sunshine Corazon to a crack-house but suspended Marley because she didn't want to wear a seashell bikini saying that she put herself above the rest of the club knowing that she'd had an eating disorder earlier that year.

She isn't that bad she is actually a pretty funny character if you get her. She is suppose to be OTT, intense and dramatic but the this fandom forgets it is a comedy at times.
