That actually looks pretty cool! I like the find feature! Expiry date is always an issue I struggle with but even if it can’t read it accurately, locating it is helpful. You could at least try using another method to read it until they get it right. Great work!

I don't use cell phones except my old flip phone with no texting, but I clicked on your video since I hoped it might actually be a sort of TV service for the blind. I want somebody to take old popular movies or TV shows and remove all the pictures and make available just the sound listenable on my laptop or PC or Victor Trek.

Pretty interesting. I thought it was going to be very similar to most of the other apps, but I’d like a couple of its unique modes. I especially like the one where you tell it what text you want to find. I can see that being really useful even for low vision. I am really waiting for this type of technology to be available through smart glasses that work with multiple apps, because just being able to glance at something and have these features work would be great.

It very nicely read a book's introduction to me! Wow, how exciting! I can hold a book like I used to read them. I can either listen to it read to me or read the text from my phone with inverted color on. OMG, this is kind of a life changer. BTW, it reads mail like a pro. I hope the final version will cook for me. LOL

Have they made this app for iOS users yet? I’m really shocked the Apple hasn’t jumped on board and got their own version of a product like this since they do have voiceover for our Apple iPhones and there’s a Lotta accessibility technology out there when it comes to Apple products? I just can’t understand why Once again if they decide to make this a product where we have to pay for it that really sucks, due to the blind does not usually make as much as normal sighted people in our products, just for assistance around the house, and things of that nature tend to be quite expensive and unfair. 1:12

Could you happen to do a video of how you get around / travel? That would be helpful for me as a low vision person myself. Like this comment so the blind life sees this haha.
@theblindlife3 жыл бұрын
Well if you’re talking about just getting around in general, I’ve done videos on how are use my cane. If you’re talking about traveling, I’ve done videos on that as well. In fact, I have a video on independent travel for the visually impaired where I show how I go through the airport and everything.

This is potentially interesting. I find it interesting that most people I know that are blind or visually impaired, or iPhone users. Not all but most, it’ll be interesting to see if this comes to further development. To me right now it sounds very similar to Seeing AI. It would’ve been interesting the mask thing last year. Most people I know are going away with masks in most locations. Guess for now I’ll stick with, aira and be my eyes smile.
@theblindlife3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the mask identifier probably isn’t needed as much now as it was last year here in the US. However, just about every other country on the planet could still benefit from that feature.

By the way, I understand that not all watchers here rely on screen readers, and I also understand this app is in beta, but being in beta doesn’t excuse developing an inaccessible app from the beginning. Also, lots of apps like this already exist.

When a company develops for the blind, they would do well to make sure the app works with built-in accessibility tools from the outset. This app does not work with TalkBack. This is the third or fourth video I am watching with inaccurate, or useless info for our community. Will be unsubscribing
