I absolutely loved this programme. I watched it, if I was off from school! I wish I could go back in time, I don't like this time in history, life was so much simpler and less PC. ☹🌹♥️

Houseparty, like "Out Of Town" was one of those Southern oddities where the logo appeared without the blue background and ident jingle. Dangerous information was also a variant as it had the blue background but omitted the jingle in favour of going straight in to the theme tune. To add a cliché....."not a lot of people know that!".

When Southern ended in 1981; TVS did not take this on-I guess because they wanted to try something different. But when Meridian replaced them in 1993, they did revive the series for a while, although not for long. I am not sure whether it was networked, or shown in their own region only though.

@zetametallic4 жыл бұрын
That bin is the best thing😈. I've never seen or heard of 'Houseparty' before (I lived in the Granada region as a child) and I couldn't imagine my mum watching it even if we did get it. Looks like a load of women from a neighbourhood watch group on their day off getting together to discuss and make crap. That blue bin needs to be let loose in the studio and shake things up a bit😈😈😈😈😈. That I'd happily watch.

Wow, would you believe the racism and sexism in some of the promos for other ITV shows before Housparty starts! Jim Davidson speaking of his pretend character Chalky White, a stereotype of West Indian race: "Chalky loves Christmas, well he feels safe in all that snow, people can see him of a night-time!" and Bruce Forsyth "This is where you two, (stares at chest) not you two, YOU two!" 🙄
