It's wonderful to see Luciana Serra in this role. I admire her for resisting the temptation to sing part of "Vieni al tempio" an octave higher as so many other sopranos do. Bellini's original is perfect just as he wrote it.

I have heard many, many other versions, but, GEE---- I'VE ENJOYED THIS SO MUCH !!!! I've been a "PICKY AS HELL" "MEAN OLD CRITIC", but, when "push comes to shove", I buy Performance Tickets and recordings to....ENJOY MYSELF!!!!!

Giovanni Battista Rubini, the original Arturo, was a "tenorino," so his range extended well above the normal tenor range. This would explain why Bellini wrote such extremely high notes in Arturo's part.
