I think the College of Shadows is the only team I can see me using GWs miniatures. Not only do they seemingly fit together as a team across races, they also have the most individual models. Adding Forge World range you have: 3 Dark Elf linemen, 3 Skaven Linerats, 6 Goblins, 3 Gutter Runners, 1 Dark Elf Runner, 1 Elf Blitzer, 2 Skaven Blitzers, 2 Skaven Throwers, 1 Witch Elf, 2 Assassins before having a duplicate.

Yeah I'm worried about this also man I thought it might just spell a period of two different sprue boxes over the next few months But your gonna need a lot of individual miniatures to fill a team you'd actually want to field!!

I was thinking the same, but then I figured I could use my existing teams as the "core" for a DB team, and simply pick up other models for the other-race models on the team (painting them the same colors as the core models). Might work for a few of the DB rosters, at least.

There's nothing in the rulebook to say it's offically yes or no! So, I think as ever it'll be down to your league to decide!! There's some potent combinations, but I'd say give it a go for one season!! 😁

The rosters have lots of positionals so teams without cheap lineman choices are hard up. Especially since initially only a partial team on the pitch.

Definitely going to be some challenges, but with 6 on the pitch at the start, adding 1 player per turn, you're going to need those numbers!

Think I'm liking fire and life the most - super cheap snotlings to fill out your team, so you can load up on good stuff. The fact that you can get 4 bloaters, 2 wardancers and still have change after 3rr's and filling the team could be manic. Do the big guys have loner? Thinking particularly of the ogres on the fire team and the treemen

The Fire Ogres don’t have Loner 😁👍 but looks like the other Big Guys have their normal 3/4+. Oooh that’s right! Life is an awesome roster, tonnes of flex *and* Wardancers!! Plus… the hobby opportunities are huge! Mostly Nurgle? Use Nurglings as Snots! Mostly Wood Elves? Use tiny Treemen as Snots, or some Dryads as Rotters! Tonnes of cool stuff!!

I think stunty going to be very good in dungeons to wiggle through tackle zones. Snotlings will be great for this because, in my experience, one ST 4 blocker just seals a 2 sq. wide corridor. Big Guys tend to struggle in DB because they become isolated too easily. Building one of these teams from scratch will definately be at least 2 team boxes except a viable College of Life is 3 boxes (Wood Elf, Nurgle, and Snot or Halfling) plus 2 big guys so its the most expensive. I expected that there wouldn't be secret weapons in DB.

I'm more in line with College of Orcs (Metal with Orcs and Black Orcs) and the College of Undeath. I wish there where starter boxes for these teams. Hoping we get a Dungeon Bowl video game. (We don't talk about the other one)

Hahaha, the game-that-shall-not-be-named (or is that Cursed C... 😁)! A part of me wishes the teams were designed with a sprue-of-each approach to make it easier... but most of the colleges have a roster where you can start with a single team and add things to it! So the College of Metal has a Blorc heavy roster (mostly Blorc team minis with a couple of add-ons), and there's the same for Orcs and Humans too! 😁 Mega exciting!

Definitely! And with the human/noble Positionals they’re pretty interchangeable 😁 for example with Metal - if you’ve got the BB2020 starter set, you’ve got a lot of the player options already!!

The rosters seem expertly designed around the concept of selling lots of boxes of plastic. Pretty much every roster wants 2 different full team boxes plus some little left overs from another box. It does not appear that a plastic model shows up in 2 rosters so if you want a full dungeon bowl league set you need 19 or so plastic boxes.

My only concern is that the bowl is in the chest model... Which means you will need to paint all 6 chests EXACTLY the same. For expert painters that will probably okay, but I would be stressing that I've painted some highlights slightly different, hence knowing what some chests contain. Which could also give the player who's set it is, the advantage. What other suggestions could you guys think of? I thought of just painting all 6 block colours, but I'm not sure!

Totally valid point! We have a solution in the works at the moment but it's top secret for now! However, you can always roll 1D6 when you open a chest. 6= ball, not a 6 = explosion, if the # is equal or less than the number of opened chests: reroll. (e.g. 1 or 2 rolled on the 3rd chest to be opened is a reroll), or take 5 playing cards and a joker card and shuffle them - use them as the draw pile! Joker is the ball!

my solution, 6 chests 1 ball 1 d6 first chest opened, ball on 6+, 2nd chest 5+ etc etc until one chest is left and its a 1+ to get ball. sure someone may turtle and let the other team open up the first two chests, but they will regret it if that person rolls a 6.

College of metal, human blitzer for ball carrier over orc thrower, bloodseeker as the blitzer, fill rest with BugUns and orc linos seems good. Also love College of Life, Wardancers to handle the ball with some rotters/bloaters and some snortlings/flingers for fun.

College of Beasts/Heavens are basically just Chaos Chosen/Lizardmen with some extra positionals, which is a bit disappointing to me. The other colleges have some potential for own box releases though. For example one sprue of Shambling Undead and one Sprue of Necromantic Horrors = College of Death. Or Orcs/Humans for College of Metal. College of Life has so many options, they could even throw 4 different sprues in there.

Yeah some rosters scream, " More players coming soon!" to me. I assume when we get more blood bowl teams they will trickle down in to different colleges. I could see Amazon's, high elfs, and Vamps fitting in real well on teams.

Well after being 2nd in my recent League using the Legion of the Snot the fact I can add Nurgle to them, my favourite Chaos God, and some shenanigans of Wood Elves....god damm it College of Life time but need to get more Fungas Flingas. 4 Flingas seems a fair amount to run :)

@@BoneheadPodcast Sure. It might be a bit bland for what can be created with the roster, but seems reliable enough. Also cheap for a new player (just one Chaos box plus a Werewolf from Greebo). But for full "Blood for the Blood God" mode, you could go 5 Beastmen, 4 Chaos Warriors, 1 Werewolf, and 1 Minotaur for a total of 975,000. Which gets you no re-rolls. He who dares Rodney...

3 bloodspawns is tempting but so expensive and we all no they will just sit there raging when they can't blitz, 3 kroxigors makes for some of the chunkiest muscle in the game. 3 of those can cover most end zones and everyone else can run around.

Cheap linemen would mean we would talk about cheap dwarf blockers and khorne marauder, too. Elsewise they would have to rewrite the rule to be gnobblar exklusive instead of team's linemen exklusive. So i believe no cheap linemen for college of fire
