I’m an archaeologist and every single one of my friends/colleagues not only hate Sapiens, but are genuinely disturbed that such a misapplication of the archaeological and historical record could be such a global success. My paleoanthropology friend literally hurled the book across the room during the first couple chapters 😂. It’s used as an example of how our research can be appropriated for ethnogenesis. The narrative is insanely biased, and completely misrepresents decades of research 😅 but I get why people would read it and think it was decent.

I read Uprooted last year and I was VERY pleasantly surprised by it, I mean I personally wouldn’t call it a five star read because it can be clumsy at times, the romance is kinda predictable (of COURSE she falls for the Dragon…) and the second half becoming intense high fantasy was kinda out of pocket, but that being said, I loved that book !
