(Part 4) Envelope Journal - Stack of Letters : Chit Chat and Collage (not a tutorial)

Part 4 of Stack of Letters Envelope Journal.
Not a tutorial! Just some relaxing chit chatting while I work on a little collaging on my envelopes. Nothing intensive today. It's been a long week. So this video is a little slower paced than my normal.
However, we will kick it up a notch in the next video (part 5) which I will try to have finished the first part of next week.

2 different sized junk mail envelopes with windows. Mine measured 3 7/8" x 8 1/2" & 3 3/4" x 7 1/2"

Very nice Dawn. I like that you don’t edit out too much of your video because it helps to see how you work and what you would do different. I love this project. It’s like a traveller’s kit... a place to keep receipts but also a journal for travel notes. Very nice!

Love what you are doing. Every thing takes longer then you think it then you think it is suppose to. You do not need to be messy to do Jelly plate. You can wear gloves and put down craft paper for easy clean up. It would be fun to make your own printed papers.

I loved this! It amazes me how quickly you rip papers and build a beautiful collage. Hope you also do a flip through of your herb journal. I have purchased a herb kit from VD and would love some inspiration. About your Amazon coupon, I would go for the wax stamp. Looks so nice on journals. The gelli plate you can easily make one following the frugalcrafter tutorial. Mine has more than 5 years and is still doing well. 😊

This little project has inspired me and given me ideas - and it turned out so gorgeous! I could have sworn I heard you say you were going to do the binding so you could swap out the signature... did you change your mind or am I just losing mine? Lol. By the way, for your button and string closure (perfect choice there) you could have done the button covering the VD paper in a smaller size since you didn't want to cover it up too much. I sometimes do mine in half-inch with a 1" on the flap. In that case you would want to use 1/8" eyelets. Just a thought. Awesome journal! tfs :)

I lost 65lbs... I eat potatoes (in moderation) lots of brown rice, cooked veggies, and yogurt was my life saver. Anddd I never went to the gym once! I eat chocolate it’s 2:30am I have insomnia and just ate a peppermint patty!!! I don’t even like them lol my husband does. But it’s the only chocolate that was in the house!

TheBookVandalShop thank you!!!!! It was definitely a much needed boost, but for my physical health, it was... well, a necessity. I’m married to an Italian man who loves to cook. With a LOT OF CARBS!!!!!! A LOT OF CARBS! An insanely unhealthy amount of carbs!!! lol!!! My metabolism at a certain age decided it was done be so forgiving!!!!! And it checked me real quick! I feel like I gained it overnight. Course losing it doesn’t feel that way lol!! But once you reach your goal weight or even half of it and see any progress even if it’s 10lbs and your goal weight was 10lbs. It’s rewarding!

It's called gelli printing. You paint on a gelatinous rubber mat thing then put paper on it. It's hard to explain . You'll have to check out a video and see it. It's pretty awesome though. Messy fun!

I’m trying my hand this- I’m terrible. Well I suppose if I had most of the supplies necessary I’d get better!!! But I’m feeling quite defeated!!!! There’s no such thing as JUNK!!!! In any of this!!! Lol!!!! You have to buy the tools needed to do it half decent. For the basics of what I would need, it’s roughly $200!!!!! And that’s very very basic!!!!

I'm sure it is not as terrible as you think. Just adapt it to use what you have. Use whatever envelopes you have available, you can use Brads instead of eyelets, just do what works for you without having to buy a lot of stuff.

Quick question, I printed the kit on regular copy paper, to see them in person, and they look great. If the envelopes you are using are somewhat sturdy, you could probably print on regular paper instead of cardstock

Yep, a lot of papercrafters use it because it doesn't wrinkle paper since it is not a waterbased glue

Glad this was at a relaxed pace as I’m on vacay without access to my journaling materials but I’m so obsessed with this project I ‘m watching on my phone with one eye on a beautiful Mexican sunset! I also have some Amazon credit burning a hole in my pocket and I’m pretty sure I’m going to pull the trigger for a Dremel in order to drill holes for dangles/charms on my journals among other things. TheBookVandalShop I will definitely check it out. I really only have access to some digital media. Glue! Double sided tape!!! And the wrong paper, which was supposed to be card stock. But it’s photo paper. With one side glossy and one side matte. (How my husband heard card stock, and got photo paper- glossy and matte. Is beyond me!!! I’ll be doing the shopping for now on!). They closed AC a Moore near me. And supposedly Michaels is opening where AC Moore was. But I don’t know when so I can’t see anything physically before I purchase it. And I’m starting from scratch. (I guess having all sons is what kept me so late in the game with all of this stuff lol. Bc my sis in law, has all girls and they’ve been doing it for years!!! But we never talked about it!!). Well either way I absolutely love how this turned out, and hope to be able to make one even half as good as this one of these days!!
