Hey BostonTrucker...what an awesome video this is...so smooth, so informative...I feel like I'm right there. I remember Dave from previous videos...what a great guy to "hang with". How fortunate you are to know him as you do, especially dating back to your "Bud Meyer days". When you asked him (in so many words), "What does it take to drive a truck like this?", his reply "common sense...know your limitations (straight out of "Dirty Harry" BTW!!)...know where your trailer is at all times" sums it up, perfectly, in one tight package. Western Stars get better and better with every turn of the calendar...we have a Star dealer here on Long Island (Aptico)...best in the business. Thanks, so much Mike...as always.

Those ARI sleepers are awesome. Been in them many times at the truck shows. They are definitely a must if you want to live on the road and do a specific job that allows for the length of 300” or more. Plus at 25,000 pounds for the tractor only weight is a huge issue. It’s amazing he has a reefer with that weight. Probably around 35,000 empty. Beautiful ride for sure 😎🤟

Really enjoyed this. What a truck! If I had to be OTR, I'd be jealous of all these condominium sleepers. Western Star makes a fine looking machine, too. And having done 200k in a 2020 Cascadia with the Detroit DD15 and DT12 automatic, I'm totally cool with that powertrain. Strong and reliable if treated well. Only problems I had in the Cascadia were auxiliary stuff -- broken pedal valve for the brakes and a power steering leak happened pretty much when it was brand-new (fixed under warranty), then an annoying electronic gremlin that would make the AC stop blowing cold until the truck was shut down and restarted. Suspected a problem with the control panel in the sleeper. Didn't stay long enough to see the problem solved as I moved on to a better job. But you won't see me say much negative about Freightliner or Western Star.

@TheBostonTrucker2 жыл бұрын
No one's mad here. Every truck in this video is a company truck and I believe they go for around 250K. Usually, truckers who drive trucks like these specialize in what they haul, they're not just hauling general freight as does this company. Specialized hauling pays a lot more plus when a driver drives a truck like this, they're more apt and probably expected to stay out on the road for many more weeks than the average driver which earns the truck more money.
