Let's go back in time to the 1970's when trucking was dealing with a lot of struggles like diesel prices and deregulation.
The full video can be found on this channel. / fierdetreroutiervideo
I want to thank Jarrod Dorsey for making me aware of the original video.
Thanks to Dan Snavely for the pictures and some information.
Enjoy!

I owned four COE's in the late '70s and '80s. Those days are gone but I was lucky to have experienced the old fashioned truck stops and original truck routes even though most of my 48&Canada trucking was done on the interstate system. CB camaraderie helped us in weather events and boredom.

Thanks for sharing!!!! The 70s truckers faced the same problems.... Pay, fuel cost, competition from the big union trucking companies.

Thank you for finding this. I love this era. These are the guys, girls and trucks I grew up admiring when I was a kid in Britain. This is probably grossly over romanticising the 70's and trucking then, but I am so jealous.

Just came across one of your drivers at the Bimbo facility in Greenwich Ct. the other day. Commented to him what a nice unit he had. Driver spoke highly of both company and equipment they operate. Dare I say American Pride. Good show guys keep it up.

Looking at this in today's times seems like now but way more laid back....truck prices were what they should be, all the jobs you want and able to run hard and long as you want....didn't know they had go pros back then those scenes on the highway were very nostalgic... The diner scene was also cool....as I've heard no matter who or what race you are ...man or woman...if you drive a truck you have a story and everyone respected everyone for the most part.....thanks for sharing this

Neat video. The old trucks and cars of that era are very interesting in design, unlike today's vehicles that all look the same. Being that I was born and raised in Hanover, PA (and still live here), one of the most interesting parts of this video to me is @6:39 when she is pulling into the lot to unload. That is the original Utz potato chip factory in Hanover, PA. They don't do much production at that facility anymore and in the spring of 2024 they are halting all production there and the other factories they have in town will pick up that production until they are done building the new facility. The factory store will remain at the old original plant as it has always been.

Very interesting to hear you hauled out of Hanover. There is a lot of industry and manufacturing in Hanover. They never mentioned it was Utz in this video but I recognized the building and the Weis Markets grocery store in the backgound and the famous brown/red/white step vans they used for route sales. Hanover is a neat little town!@@TheBostonTrucker

Love it I wonder where these F Model Macks and Kenworth are now thanks for sharing days gone by gone but not for gotten. R.I.P 40's 50's 60's 70's 80's and 90's Truckin as we knew it the days of a hand shake helping other Driver's out arm strong steering. Good old 8 Track or Cassette tape and all ways the favorite one got eaten by the Cassette Player. Leaking Kaiser AC unit with a bucket on the dog house No Air Ride Rubber Block spring suspension. Truck Stops that took care of us Truckers we looked forward that Orange Ball in the Sky the old 76 was a welcome sight. Along with original TA's that had the Country Pride Restaurants Petro's with the Iron Skillets. Not fast food or rotisserie food now day's. Yeah sure we spent a lot in quarters using the old payphone to call for loads or call home and we used the one in the restaurants that was at ever single booth. The smell of Diesel in the morning the wering sound of the air start the sea of lights at night are gone but not for gotten. Yes us Truckers had to fly under the radar back then because most of the time there was NO middle man to deal with only the Broker and Trucker. Load for the west and hope for the best cheap freight don't rate. If you missed the foot well step or last step in the Cabover it was a hard landing especially during snow season First one on the scene of the accident.

O-H-I-O Porter greetings 🇺🇸 Another fine video. Those F model Macks were quite nice looking. My dad looked at one that his brother bought new. I’m not sure why he didn’t buy it. I wanted it myself. Miss those Mack cabovers! It’s cool that Snavely is still in business. I guess they sure like Mack trucks! WOW! Gonna check them out! It’s called “Independent Trucking”. There were a lot of them out there back then. Some serious trucking back in the day! You got in on some of that, Mike. 🤩😎✌️
