So rather than make a collar you were able to recycle one from a Trombone Lyre (basically a music stand that attaches to the instrument).

Great video, Art! The restoration series have been your best videos on your channel so far. Man, the leadpipe with the solder. Isn't there a chance that it will leak? I did that once at my shop and I was scolded for it!

Jep Fo same here! It wasn’t on a lead pipe but my mentor showed me how to deal with a similar issue by using a slide expander on a ferrule. Slightly expand one side only and it makes the transition between the two sizes of tubing a bit easier with way less solder. Not sure if that is “hoyle” or not but it worked!

@@mr.schwall6144 Same here, I would have expanded the end of the leadpipe to have a better fit between tubings. I'm not fond of soft solder fills
