It looks like they used the short little tube as a strengthener for the repair that was attempted previously, instead of just trying to solder two broken halves together. Watching your videos has given me the courage to attempt to replace an inner slide tube on a trombone that I have. Thanks!

My school issued trombone has some rust inside of the slide, what should/can I do about it?

You can put it in the bath tub and clean the inside with a trombone cleaning snake that you can get from your local music store.

My friend...use ball bearingwith inside race removed. The inside of the balls touching tube shoukd be OD diameter of the tube. Leave your mandrel in and roll it up and down your tube. This will work as english wheel to respread metal. Until next time

Use 2 hammers...Hold one hammer on one side in place... Tap the other side with the hammer in the other hand

Lol... you ever thought about putting medical adhesive tape around the dent ball so it doesn't scratch the inside of the tubing

The tape would cause the dent ball to become less effective- it's squishy.

@@magicpowification I disagree. Medical bandage tape is just going to stop the dent ball from scratching the inside of the tubing
