Great list. I love seeing Dream Home get love. It’s one of my wife’s favorite games. And harvest dice sounds like a perfect stocking stuffer for the upcoming holiday season.

Hidden is relative the individual. The games mentioned here are not ones I see hit a table unless I'm the one bringing them out.

Luke your comment seems like you think I was having a dig...I really wasn't...I watch most of your content so therefore know the games you picked... They are the only place I've seen them so well hidden from me 🤯🤯🤯

Nice list. I like your approach to hidden gems, and the fact that it's more about how you didn't know about them at first. I didn't realize Majesty had flown under the radar but you're right, and it still doesn't get much attention. It even gets dusty on my own shelf :p I should take it out again, I did quite enjoy that one! And I'd have to try out Innovation, I'm intrigued... You already sold me Coffee Roaster ages ago and I was so happy when it got a reprint, but then I heard about the app and now I'm still on the fence about it... The game is indeed a bit expensive. But if the app's not that great, it's also a waste of money... oh what to do, what to do!

My hidden gem suggestion is Cosmic Run (and basically all the Steve Finn games)

Majesty For the Realm my top hidden gem. It sat unplaced on my shelf for over a year - the box doesn’t helpThen we played it and it’s now one of my favourite games to play with my family

I found the scoring wonky. Try and get the most of each occupation, but then also try and get all 7, so scores become too similar and it just became repetitive. Had it for a year, but couldn't find much support to get it to the table, so sold.

I havent seen the new box but I love the over art for your version of coffee roster....colour me interested.

The aesthetics are quite different but the gameplay remains the same hence unless I get a review copy I've no need to pick up the new version.

Hard to think of Innovation as a hidden gem when it has over 13k ratings and has been in the top 300 games on BGG for almost a decade, but I suppose the list is games that were hidden to him, not necessarily hidden for the broader hobby.
@TheBrokenMeeple5 жыл бұрын
If the list was only games with only a few ratings then literally every game would be some trash relic from forgotten times. Plus a hidden gem doesn't have to be hidden from everyone. Also as much as Innovation has ratings when was the last time you saw it in a game store or being played? In the UK it's practically non existent.
@Naledgeizpwr5 жыл бұрын
The Broken Meeple that is really interesting. At the stores in Seattle, Innovation and its expansions are displayed in fairly prominent areas. Blue Highway Games and Mox Boarding House are pretty exceptional stores though.

And for myself and many others, they are. When was the last time you saw Innovation hit a table or a store shelf? Was Harvest Dice on your radar? Small Islands especially. Hidden is relative to the individual person.

Innovation is popular enough to get new reprints, though, and has half a dozen expansions. But it is for very special kinds of gamers, who adore the imbalance and weird mechanisms.
