I totally agree. You should consider your savings as a bill each month. It has worked for me.💰

Love the idea of the cash back credit card, I do that and then I just use the cash back to make the credit card payments!

Your videos have been so helpful on my financial journey! I currently am working retail and having to rebuild my life after corona( I had sadly lost my job during the pandemic). Your videos have given me so much hope that I am able to meet the goals no matter the job I am working and have just made me feel like it is possible to rebuild after a tough couple of years

I have accounts that are either online or far away so I’m not tempted to withdraw from. I also do direct deposit into them from my paycheck so I never notice it’s “missing”

What’s your opinion about paying off mortgage vs invest?
@thebrokenwallet2 жыл бұрын
That's a good one...and I'm torn. On one hand, what you'll earn from investing is likely to exceed the interest savings. But on the other hand, I understand the appeal of living mortgage-free. I would recommend speaking with a financial advisor to decide which is right choice for you.

Great tips. Do you have any recommendations for some good cash back credit cards?
@thebrokenwallet3 жыл бұрын
I like Discover It because it doesn't have an annual fee and you can earn up to 5% back in certain categories. Capital One, Chase and BofA also have no annual fee/cash back options.

I think using the term "savings" or "saving money" is not the best way to talk about and IRA or 401k because there are people who don't know the difference. Your savings account loses it's value every day because of inflation. That money will literally be worth a lot less when it comes to purchasing power. Sure, we should have 3 to 8 months of our cost of living saved, after that then invest.

I can't recall what I said exactly, but I'm pretty sure I made a distinction between saving for retirement vs an everyday savings
