I love the way kegland operate, to me it feels like a homebrewer set up a business to look after other homebrewers with the community at the forefront of their mind. They create a product that changes and simplifies homebrew 'operations' in ways we didnt realise we needed but always wanted and then they go one step further and blow the competition out of the water by making it compatible with what every one of us has to hand already so we can dip our toe in at a fraction of the cost without having to completely upgrade our brewhouse in one go while still reaping the benefits of creative and innovate ideas and solutions. Imagine where we'd be today if other companies in and out of home brewing had the same ethos. Cool vid as always Trent, keep 'em coming 👍

Oh Trent. Watching you cut the Evabarrier tubing with scissors really killed me. Those lines need to be cut clean and flush 90 degrees for them to be best suited with the Duotight fittings. Spend the $5 and grab the Duotight cutter. It will prevent leaks in the future and seal way better. Keep up the great work!

I've migrated almost all my kegging equipment to KegLand products (kegs, tubing fittings, regulator and flow control QD's). My latest addition is the wireless charger for the RAPT Pill. Great products and a great video.

Almost every single piece of brewing equipment I have is from Kegland. I brew in a Brewzilla, I ferment in a Fermzilla, I use blowties to pressure ferment, all my kegs are Kegland kegs, my taps are nukatap and the list goes on. They are good products at a great price point and they allow for a lot of customization for almost all products. A few months ago I also got tired of lines in my keezer. I was, and am still, using EVABarrier so my lines were about 1,2m (ca. 4 ft.). I replaced all of my disconnects with flow control disconnects and shortened my lines down to about 40cm (1.3 ft.). On top of that I added in-line regulators to each gas line. So now I have a very simple and easy way to adjust the pressure into each keg, thereby controlling carbonation, and drop that pressure without adjusting my line lengths at all.

I just upgraded my keezer to Duotight liquid lines. I am planning to switch over the gas system too, since I have so many connection points with a secondary regulator and a line pass through at the collar. I also think my cheap vinyl lines are slowly leaking pressure since I have no visible leaks at any connections, and still loose gas pressure if I switch the bottle off and wait a week. The flexibility when cold is all worth it though.
@GentleGiantFan

I did a comparison of beer lines when I first was going to switch over to Duotight/EVA.Two kegs of the same beer, one with EVA Barrier line and the other with the Bevlex 200 beer line. The first few ounces in the vinyl line always has that weird oxidized taste to it if you didn't flush out the line after going a day or more without pulling a pint. I've never had that issue with the EVA Barrier. I use this on everything I own now. I've swapped all my gas/beer lines with this stuff. There's a larger EVA line that's 6.5mm ID (9.5MM OD) that I use as transfer lines from my carboys to kegs. You can make just about anything you might need with this stuff. Kegland is a pretty amazing company.

I may have to get some of those. I'm converting my pin lock keg to ball lock and I'm in need of some new tubing, so maybe I'll do the FFL and some of that tube. I have a converted full fridge as my kegerator. Space isn't an issue, but these things remind me of Shark Bite fittings for plumbing and I like those things.

I use Duotight for literally everything anymore. It makes things SO much easier Pro-tip: if it ever gets stuck on hose, grab an adjustable wrench, adjust it to be about the gap of the Duotight connector, and pull it towards the connector. Comes right off, just be careful not to let the connector go flying!

I would recommend just going with the Duotight QD if you are changing. The cost of a standard QD and an adapter to fit the line is pretty close to the cost of a Duotight QD. And one extra connection means one extra point to leak.

I have the 5 mm ID lines and also have the duo tight joiners. This way if I have a beer with standard carbonation (2-2.5 volumes) I just use a 12 foot line. For higher carbed beers like Belgians, saison etc (3 volumes), I just extend the line to 18 feet. Super easy.

On the flow control disconnect to the picnic tap, you say that will help with overly foamy pours? When I lug a keg to an event, I always have issues with overly foamy serving pours from my picnic tap because the environment is always warmer than my kegerator.

@@TheBruSho to be fair, it's probably fine given this application. Keg lines are less than 15 psi. Your average home water pressure is around 60+ psi, so my disdain for shark bites doesn't necessarily apply here. @TheBruSho
@TheBruSho Жыл бұрын
Line length depends on the pressure you're serving and the line resistance. So in my case I had same pressure but the EVA barrier had more resistance so I could shorten the lines. And use a pressure regulator to adjust the co2 level.
