If I may make a suggestion in reference to the lag problem, I noticed you have your frames capped at 100 but every time you encountered another player and mentioned lag it would drop to less than 60fps at times then jump back. If you try capping at 60 it may solve the lag but you know your PC better than me so I could just be wrong but it might still be worth a try.

Saddest thing I seen the other day. Two veteran players were chasing a sloop trying to help them. They kept running away. Our dudes gave up as soon as they gave up. They saw that the noobs loop literally just spawned the shrouded ghost. They charged over there to try and interact with it, but the noobs immediately ditched the shark at the closest island and kept going The two KZbinrs tried their damndest to get the shark come back, but an ancient terror respond instead Noobs were so scared to play the game. They turned down one of the only opportunities they'll probably ever have in their lifetime and when they realize what they've done, they're going to kick themselves

Theb, lock your framerate with your monitor refresh rate and enable vsync. That substantially reduces the rubber banding you're feeling on the gally. It doesn't get rid of it completely but it helps a lot.
