Wow 🤩 I’m so grateful for this video it’s going to be on my list of мои любимые балетные видео (my favorite ballet 🩰 videos)! And it couldn’t come at a better time. I just got home from being in urgent care for 5 hours (they kept me there because I’ve been struggling with my mental health - thoughts of Ольга, Olga Spessivtseva 😢). I’m doing better and this was the best welcome home present 🎁! I usually dance the 2nd Shade, the Silver Fairy (before promotion to Diamond 💎 - I actually prefer the music of the pas de trois!), the second (sometimes 3rd) odalisque, and the middle Big Swan 🦢 and middle Nymph in Walpurgis Night because of my height! @@TheBunduBallerina thank you! You have THE BEST ballet 🩰 content on KZbin. I’m so happy you included Walpurgis Night. I know Balanchine has choreographed his version of it but it’s rare to see in the West the version I love. I’m very grateful to my педагог (teacher/coach/mentor) Yelena Ryabinkina from Moscow Academy who took interest in me from the very beginning. I even lived with her. She made me a balanced ballerina (taking advantage of my being a lefty!) by expecting nothing but the best AND to be better on my right side than the left. She promised me I’d be recognized by that from being able to dance corps and solo roles that can involve degagés to the left (like Sleeping Beauty fairies - I was always La Violente Fée 🧚‍♀️), and later moments like Diana’s and Giselle’s 1st act variations with left turns. She encouraged me to understudy all roles and memorize them “just in case”… she approached my weaknesses by giving me parts that would challenge me. I’m an adagio, grand allegro, tons of stamina long arms and legs everywhere and she gives me Diamond 💎 Fairy. I’m so grateful! I saw a video of her in another channel doing the Raymonda Blue Variation… she coached me in the role and I could see in her performance everything she wanted me to absorb, especially the Hungarian qualities of the variation. I ended up performing it in the Austrian Consulate… well I’m sorry for going on but you made me feel better ❤️‍🩹 and ballet 🩰 has always been what keeps me alive.
