Sharon Lefkowitz Thank you Sharon, he was only 6 years old when he left because of illness 3 weeks after this video was filmed. He was so clever and almost human, so gentle and gained national recognition for finding an elderly man who had left the local hospital and wandered onto a railway line then fell down the embankment where no human would of found him. I know he will be looking after my other little girl who passed over to be with him in July. He will be looking after her again.

Sorry to hear your loss. I had a Rottweiler for 15 years since I was a kid and had gone through all the mischievous adventures together. She was a sweet, patience and gentle dog for her size. She died almost 5 years ago due to cancer (the first 2 months was difficult period as my siblings and I will cry when ever my parent mentioned the dog's name or even bring out a discussion on getting a new puppy - which we did 6 months later). We still talk about her till this day about the adventures we had with her and missing her greatly. She will always be part of the family.

Rob Tro Sorry about you’re missy . We have a Missy too he is actually a boy he was homeless with his two friends that came and asked for food and he was the tamest out all of them . Our neighbors used to feed them but moved and one day he saw my mom on her way to work and went up to her begging for food and I had a cat so she came to me . We started feeding him and he went and got his two friends too 😂. Everyday for three years twice a day they came for food . When we had to move we knew we had to leave them so we tried to get them inside but only missy came so he’s been inside now for two years and couldn’t be happier 🙂. The other two are ok we found out they have another family feeding them .

@@siddharthshekhar909 Benson died 18 days before his 7th birthday in 2013. He had been ill with autoimmune disease where his red blood cells didnt regenerate. He was such a well behaved boy and so friendly and I still miss him nearly 10 years on.

Awe.. I'm so sorry for your loss!😢 Benson was adorable & this was a very cute video of him waiting patiently for his friend to give him his ice cream treats. The ice cream guy seemed to really enjoy & love visiting Benson & giving him his ice creams as much as Benson enjoyed eating them. Even though a dog can never be replaced, maybe someday you can adopt another dog from the shelter to fill that empty whole.

Yes, Benson was particularly clever, if there was a queue he would join the line and wait his turn patiently to get his free ice cream. People still talk about him now, nine and a half years on.

Thank you for your comment, but as you can see he was not actually running anywhere, this was taken 2 weeks before he died from autoimmune disease so was quite unwell at the time. May I assure you that he was exceptional off lead and totally under control whilst I filmed him and had better manners than most people!!!

I had a rat terrier /pug dog that I would take her for walks and her being pregnant I'd give here a baby cone with vanilla ice cream just before going and it the best by far, one day I had running to do and took her with me in the car, well I stopped at another ice cream place and got her a baby cone, she started eating it and spit it out, I said sorry and stopped and got her favorite baby cone, I guess even dogs get cravings
