It's 93 degrees today...I weep for my ancestors who worked in this horrid heat from sunrise to sunset...this country has much to answer for....MANY dropped dead as the result of the cruel and unusual punishment.

The cry of a people who viewed death as an escape from the cruelty of injustice
@bearheart16574 жыл бұрын
And who knew their Redeemer lives. If we were not created with the faculty called "conscience" by a transcendent moral Being , we would not even be able to conceive of such a thing as "justice." There WILL be justice. But if there were ONLY justice, all of us would end up in hell. Fortunately, another of God's attributes is mercy, evidenced in the sacrifice of Jesus His Son for our wrongs, so there is the opportunity for forgiveness, reconciliation with God, and life with Him in eternity. These are realities, not the vain and superstitious hopes of ignorant people. Without that hope, even the best of lives on this earth end in futility. Unfortunately, it is usually only suffering that humbles us enough to open up to these realities.

This is the recording of the 68 Memphis Country Blues Festival I think? with his sons? I picked up the vinyl album at a record sale in 71, changed the way I thought about blues and I've loved it ever since.
