Really wish we could purchase the sled by itself, for those of us who already own a new-ish Aero 30 or Zephyr.

​@theC47 It won't happen. I emailed them and their response was you got to buy the kit. I own the Aero A30 system. Paid less than 1/2 price for it. They took the Zephyr off their website too. Which means your payload is 3 pounds less. Currently 20 pounds (9KG). I tested a Sony Burano 8K with Zeiss CP3 lens and Arri mattbox with battery.

You can hook up a Betz Wave rider to correct horizontal levels that attaches to the Zephyr top stage, but that adds another few kilos to your payload. Which compromises your camera rig set-up. Not cheap though.

I would absolutely want to see more videos on the Axis!. I am looking to get back into operations after I sold my archer rig a few years ago. This would be the perfect rig for what I want to do.

Current Zephyr owner op. Preordered the Axis, so definitely interested in this new Zephyr model.

Awesome! I believe the Zephyr name goes away though. It will be the Steadicam Axis. It’s only going to be sold as a complete system I believe.

You are correct, as far as I can tell. They’ve packed an amazing amount of tech into a package priced around what the original Zephyr was.

When you say the weight capacity is 20lbs, are you just referring to the arm/vest that supports the sled? Or are you also referring to strength of the 3-axis motors within the Steadicam Axis' Volt? Can someone realistically keep this setup for bigger cameras and just upgrade to a larger weight capacity arm/vest?

For the system as sold, 20lbs for camera and battery. Not sure about another vest and arm. That’s a question for Tiffen/Steadicam.
