Used to play hide and seek with my German Shepherd. Either myself or my daughter would go off and hide in the woods while my dog was distracted by the other. She got very good at it. Another variant was while hiking in a larger group, send one member off into the woods. Nellie would soon notice someone was missing then begin looking. You would think I was tormenting her but she just loved it.

Same here. On walks she count everyone with a little snout touch to the leg. When some went “missing” she starts a search pattern.

My friends would get mad at me because I trained my GSD Lucy to not let any of them Hold Out on me when they came over. She was the best🐾❤

I got a grey GSD a few weeks per year. From a befriended family when they went on vacation. I intuitively sensed all she wanted me was to be with her and showing her affection and that she is truly important to me. Which was very easy for me because I fell deeply in love within a few days. I will never forget her.

I am 77 years old. I’ve had 10 German Shepherd‘s in my lifetime. The one I have now is a rescue they going to put him down in 48 hours so I adopted him I found out later he was in the military and he flunked, and I love him and hate him at the same time but he’s doing his job by keeping me moving whether I want to or not what does dogs spell backwards God 😊😊😊😊 P.S. No regrets.

Mines 2 years old and 4 months and acts and plays like a 3 month old , he loves finding me when I hide on walks playing with mud, bubbles, sticks, and sniffs every blade of grass, arqumentive but very loyal and loving he's my second gsd ❤

My German Shepherd was absolutely the best at helping me care for an elderly friend with dementia who i brought to live in my home for five years. He was always near her day and night and alerted me on two occasions in the middle of the night when she had a medical emergency saving her life. They passed within weeks of each other and i like to think of them together forever.

They are the best I have a MAL X hybrid for those who don't know what that is it's a malinois GSD mix and when I say best of both world it's amazing the intelligence they have only thing MAL X have way more energy.

I’ve had to pull out fishing hooks and remove ingested facemasks from my Shepherd. Her nose gets her into too much trouble because if it smells good she eats it. She doesn’t know if it is good or bad. Everything else is good.

I remember my German Shepherd I had as a child went on a trip to the playground with us via car. When it was time to leave we couldn't find her and when we got home she was there. She use her nose and found her way home. I guess she was bored that we were playing by ourselves and not paying attention to her. She would always sleep in the kids bedroom every night no matter what also

You need to start exercising him more, mental stimulation, physical stimulation. They have a lot of energy and need a lot of attention.

Every morning when I was a kid, the first thing I’d hear when my parents got up in the morning was the dog sniffing under my bedroom door. My parents would open the door and the dog would come in to say hello and check I was ok.

All the comments i have seen on various videos included how German Shepherds love to go on hikes and sniffing around and regular exercise, i live in an area where there are more roads than blades of grass, and my poor Girl has never been off a lead because of this, I don't want anything to happen to her yet lots of other dogs are off their leads and their owners throw balls for them and when my girl sees or hears the sound of a football you can see how tense she gets and and anxious she is to get that ball

You may have to expose them to water when they are puppies. I’ve had two adult rescue GSD’s and neither one liked the water.

We acquired ours as a pup. He came home in March. We have an in ground pool covered by a tarp. Mater never once hesitated to run across the pool tarp. Once the weather warmed we introduced him to water. Bought him a doggie life jacket and worked with him. Two weeks pass and no life jacket required!! Now the guy literally launches into the pool…and doesn’t wanna come out!! And man the dog hair we fish out of the water!!!

If my German Shepherd she’s my Sister and Brother-In Law. If you don’t know about them, my Sister Kayla, and my Brother-In Law Dylan. They won’t be in my house. And if my German Shepherd sees my Sister Kayla, and my Brother-In Law Dylan. He will jump on the fence, and after my German Shepherd jumps on the fence. He will bark at them angry and scare them off. If necessary, I will call the Cops to get my Sister Kayla and my Brother-In Law arrested for sneaking into my house. And also, I will be getting a German Shepherd when I grow up
