Great review, but my only concern is the maximum height. I typically interview people standing up at conferences. I need a tripod I can fit into airline holder bags for conferences across Europe. Any ideas?

There are cheap aluminium photo tripods available that have a handle to extend the height even more.

With Ifootage UPRISE indicates that the tripod features a Center Column and the TC3B does NOT have a Center Column. I would suggest that you revise your headline to remove the word Uprising. BTW I have one with the MP30 Ball Head to swap out for the Fluid head when the need presents. It's a fantastic travel tripod and with either head it will fit completely within supplied tripod bag.
