I really like mine is a great improvement over the mark I. Is really sharp pretty close focusing and works well with the 1.4 teleconverter to get some extra reach 😍

Would you consider a 2x teleconverter for the same? I'm choosing between the 1.4x and 2x teleconverter for this new lens and am not sure...

I can't imagine anyone realistically complaining about the technical specs of this lens. It's the bonus features like the aperture ring, buttons and weight that makes physically using it more than the sum of it's parts.

Sony has been on such a great roll with lenses the last couple of years. All of their G-master lenses have been superb! You can't go wrong with their newest glass.

Is the zoom internal? Nothing is said on the Sony web site except that there is only one length, so I assume the length does not change

Correct, it doesn't change size when focusing or zooming so it is all internal.

Does it make clunking sound when turned up/down ?

Seems pretty quiet to me. You can also turn off the clicking of the aperture ring so it is a smooth silent turn off the ring.

I did watch DPreview of this lens I think Chris said it can sometimes have a bizzy bokeh effect but I think most people won't see it. Maybe it was at 70mm. Have to watch that video again.

It's a personal preference. We thought it was pretty even and pleasing bokeh for this focal length.

I found very ugly microbokeh when shooting a waterfall with sunny specular in tiny water droplets close to the focus.

I am sure this lense is a traffic lense, because I saw several pictures of it on other sides. But the pictures shown here are not sharp at all. I don't understand the choice of these pics.

Calgarians are used to a dry cold. I don't think we adapt to wet cold. I swear it felt like 99% humidity. which chills to the bone. I was wearing full insulating layers and waterproof pants. Drew had to stop to dry off his video lens every minute it seemed. No condensation or issues with the 70-200.

@@massmike11 Do you ever use pixel shift in the k70? I used it a handful of times on the A7R III but things that move like clouds, foliage, water and animals moving and artifacting made AI upressing and sharpening more useful.

@@KyleMarquardt I am an old fashioned kinda guy I turn most everything off, I just don’t think I can call myself a photographer if I don’t at least actually think about what I’m doing and do some of it myself. I have even been known to use a grey card and a handheld meter. For things that would stand still at least. To tell the truth the thing has way more features than I will probably ever use. But I have a fifty? Year old takamar 135 F2.5 manual focus K mount that is the best portrait lens and it works on my New camera just fine, and used high quality glass is really easy to find. The backward compatibility of pentax lenses is way better than even nikon.

@@massmike11 For me the definition of photographer used to be "someone that made photos for a living". Now my definition is "anyone that puts thought and work into their photography no matter what techniques or tools they use". Kind of like how there are professional chefs and you can also say "Dad is an excellent Chef". I have totally abandoned the grey card, I've always gotten the colour I've wanted adjusting the white balance later when processing my RAWS. The cool thing about using glass like the takamar you have is that the distinctive look it produces can be part of your look. Just one more tool to make your imagery unique but you might be one the few people to have just that one tool.

Not the same kinds of lenses. This has optical image stabilization and 50mm extra reach as well as superlative autofocus speed. The Tamron is a great lens but it’s not going to replace the 70-200 for most pros.

You also can't use the Tele converter with the Tamron.
