Such a crazy experience! Allanah is my midwife too! I'm 30 weeks with #3. At my last appointment i actually brought up my fear of having a car baby since my last babies came relatively fast and I am an hour drive from the hospital... She assured me that they're good at knowing when to tell you to go etc. etc. Shortly after that I saw your video 🤣. Safe to say i'll be going to the hospital asap!
@peaches.143 жыл бұрын
She mentioned that she was worried about her facial expressions and her screaming before uploading it.. Meanwhile when I was watching it all I was thinking was how is she so calm???!! And I kept screaming "what a woman ! What a warrior!!!!!" If I were in that situation I would probably be sobbing screaming bloody murder. Thank you for posting such a beautiful video! Congratulations to you both.

I worked in NICU and Mother/baby unit as a social worker for years. Here are my thoughts. They teach you that all births are traumatic events as they are highly emotionally charged moments. I think Troy is processing the trauma that went with delivering the baby on the 407 instead of the hospital as he had planned. He has some residual PTSD over the event. That’s totally normal. He felt responsible for the birth and safety of his wife. Great job Troy and mama Erika. Baby Nova is a stunningly beautiful baby

Holding in the urge to push is literally the hardest thing I've ever experienced in my life. I thought the midwives were trying to torture me by telling me to wait with pushing. But, of course, I had to trust the process, and that they knew what they were doing. I think it's so noble of your husband to express just how much he admires the strength of women for being able to carry forth children. 🥰 It's not easy at all.

I had to hold my 1st born to wait for the dr. The nurse had just checked me and I was 3 centimeters but then about 5 minutes later I told my mom she needed to help me go to the bathroom because I had to poop. She was like "No you don't." & I said "How are you going to tell me? Woman I'm about to poop myself!" Then she said I was going to be pushing soon and ran out to find the nurse and I just remember saying "IT'S GONNA FEEL LIKE POOPING?!" hehehe...NO! At any rate, the nurse comes in and makes a comment about how there is no way and is all slow and bothered about rechecking me and then was like "OMG. You're crowning. You were just 3 centimeters 5 minutes ago. You've got to hold that baby in, I just sent your doctor to lunch." I managed like 5 more minutes and I couldn't take it no more. A GROUP of like 8 residents were doing a tour or something and the nurse screamed for them to come in, that she needed help and all of them seemed nervous and were standing back like "not it" until FINALLY a young female washed her hands and stepped forward & held out her arms and the other residents started scattering to throw a gown, gloves and goggles on her. The second she stepped towards me she ended up catching my daughter like a wide receiver because she literally shot out. I remember the young ladies eyes lighting up with pride in the seconds before I heard my baby cry and then I started crying and nobody else existed in the room. She delivered the placenta and then my dr mosied in. I don't know if it was from holding her in or dialating too fast or the fates but I ended up having to have 362 stitches inside and out and a red robin put in for a few weeks because they had to rebuild my urethra around it. I guess since she did the honors of delivery my dr sat next to her and let her do the stitching and walked her through it. It wasn't the ideal situation and holding my baby in was 100% the worst part of the delivery, I don't recommend it. However, I know that was that girls first delivery experience and I could see in her face that she was living her dream and that moment was what all her hard work was for and I feel blessed that we all got to share that special 1st together that neither of us will forget. I hope she hasn't lost that passion and ended up being the amazing doctor I forsaw her being 11 years ago at 5:30am on a January morning.

@@misstuxbrandi I’m sorry you had such a rough deliver! I had a third degree tear with my daughter! It took longer for the dr to stitch me up than it took to push her out! Getting stitched up was the worst pain ever felt every stitch! I asked my dr how many stitches she said too many to count!!
@melodienicholson34823 жыл бұрын
The nurse kept telling me to hold it I said I can't it's doing it on its own, my daughter was small and I had complications as it was but I couldn't help it she was on her way out lol the nurse had to get the Dr and soon as he came in she was in his arms and I remember all I kept saying was it felt like I had to poop lol. She's like don't push the Dr isn't back yet. Lol. But ya I tore too.. but she's now a heathy happy very smart 2 yo & im so blessed. Now her brother he's 7 he was in the drs arms soon as I got to the hospital I didn't even get hooked up to the IV or anything. He was my best, not much pain and my fastest n biggest 9lbs 1oz and my daughter she was small 5lbs 5oz n I was early. But she's great now like i said but I wanna say congratulations to all you wonderful amazing Mama's 🥰😍♥️💙

Erika, I don't think anyone was laughing AT you, I think, from my experience I was laughing from excitement and watching your husband's reaction lol! It was so beautiful. You did such an amazing job. I'm so glad I found your video and have the chance to meet you guys and your beautiful family. Much love to you all! Xo

No laughter. That was one of the most beautiful moments I’ve seen outside of the birth of my own kids. So special. Thanks for your willingness to share that vulnerable special moment with the world.

Noone saw anything of you except strength and bravery. It was amazing. I cried buckets. When you said ring of fire... All the women said Amen!

Have you noticed that Ericka changes the subject every time Troy says "We're not doing this again"? 😁 Give it time but I'll wager that in two or three years they'll have baby no.4.

Loved your video! Thank you for sharing! I am a childbirth educator and I always show your video, but looks like no longer available:( Can you consider posting again? It's such a good example of what to do. You all did an amazing work!

I would never laugh at someone who just endured that. You had the best partner to help you birth your daughter. Congratulations. You are a beast for handling that. You are the embodiment of being badass just wow.
