Your neighbor sounds like someone who never took care of a dog, but very teachable. If I was there I would buy him a dog bed and some beef jerky. He could become a very sweet companion. If you would teach him by example he would become responsible owner.

was at Myrtle beach rv resort a few months ago. 2 groups came in and literally parked vehicles in both spots beside them while they had campers in the spots. Then blocked the roads to throw lawn darts. The kids threw the F word out like it was nothing. They had rented 2 spots but literally took control of 4 spots. Loud music all day long. Finally security came n shut them down at 10pm. While enjoying my morning coffee the next morning. I was blessed to see law enforcement come in and they were trespassed and removed.

Done dogs love it outdoors and would rather be out because it's just to warm inside for them. There were times my 24/7 with me dogs choose to stay outside. Then there were those really cold nights they were both inside my sleeping bag keeping us all warm. But someone that just allows their dog to carry on barking all night long has no manners and is either passed out drunk, or deaf ! Poor neighbors.

Oh, I had the generator thing just this last week. Mid afternoon I stopped at an overnight free camp on my way to a music festival. I took the dog for a walk and met a nice backpacker couple, and was able to give him a new set of strings for his guitar which was in bad shape. Later I took the dog for another short walk/toilet break and coming back I noticed a large RV had pulled into the spot right next to me, a few meters away. As I was getting a drink the comes out of the RV, sets up his generator and proceeds to crank it up. It was bloody noisy even though it was on the other side. OK it was a hot day, about 36 C (97 F), I figured maybe he wanted to run the aircon for a bit to cool his van down. He shut it off after about an hour or so, for which I was very grateful. I was just thinking about making dinner when he started it up again, but he'd moved it around to my side. I guess the noise and/or the fumes had started to bother him. Bugger. I went and spent some time with the backpackers to get away from the noise. I figured he'd shut it off after dinner so I could make mine and get wound down for the night. Nope. The backpacker couple had gone to bed which is normal for these kinds of camp sites. People are in bed by 8PM and are usually back on the road again by 5 or 6 the next morning, but the generator was still running. The backpacker couple mentioned that they intended breaking camp about 4AM. I came back to my own camp and couldn't even think about making any food, the smell of the generator exhaust was making me nauseous and it was going to be impossible to sleep with that racket going on just a few meters from me. I had a drink and thought about it for a while (ie stewed on it), expecting the guy to come out and shut it off. After about another half an hour of this I was getting pretty pissed off. The guy had enough extension lead to park the generator in the empty field behind us, he really didn't need to be running it right up next to us. That wouldn't have been ideal but if he'd made that much effort to mitigate the noise and fumes I would have given him a free pass. In the end I went and pounded on his door. I'd had a drink and was way past being polite about it, but I can tell you that it takes a heck of a lot to get me that wound up. I'm not proud of the way I handled the situation, but I'm pretty sure every other person in the campsite silently echoed my very loud "thank you" as he shut the generator down a few minutes later. I went to bed without any dinner because I was still feeling pretty nauseous from inhaling the generator exhaust. I don't get why anyone would think this kind of thing is acceptable. The people who use these kinds of 24 hour camp spots are usually traveling long distances and getting a good rest is a safety issue for the next days travel. If you don't get a good unbroken rest it can make the next days drive a torturous ordeal, something I think all RVers and van lifers can relate to. I really hope that bloke learned to be more considerate of others, otherwise he's going to run into more and more trouble as he travels around. As irate and frustrated as I was, there's plenty of people around who would have showed less restraint.
@TheCampulanceManКүн бұрын
I try to always formulate the reasons why someone does something like run their generator next to another camper. I have to believe that they just aren't realizing that it's causing a problem, and that's probably true in some cases. In other cases though, they don't care that it bothers someone else. It's usually more of the former, I hope... :)

Only rude person I ran into this year was when I was dropping off waste water and some 60 something guy rides up on his side by side and tries to dump off while I'm using it. Usually people wait till others are done not this guy. So I just try to be polite as possible, saying "Hi. How you doing?" but also get in his way so he has to wait. He started sighing and looked pissed and I told him, "ill be out of your hair in a minute" Oops don't think he had any my bad. So i finished up and said "have a good one" and he didn't say anything just looked livid. But yeah hearing your experience I actually want to learn how to handle some situations better. I'm in my 50s now, and even if my solutions work, it sort of could end up being volatile, and I'm getting to old for that.

That way mine only barks and growls if someone is nearing the rig. Last night a family next door woke me up before 1 am. Kept me up bickering until 3:15 or so. I put earplugs in and shut my window. It's 68 at night here in FL. I got up at 7 and made clanking kitchen noises making my coffee. Turned my phone on to your video and they listened to your words about your annoying neighbor. Sad to hear that dog had to be separated from his person. You all are so kind to befriend his new person and the dog. He may be traumatized from the change in circumstance and now you are all part of his pack now. We had an old neighbor was not a great pet owner and we ended up with 2 cats out of the deal. But it was almost 3. We called her Molly and our Siamese boy Milo was pretty bonded to her. Sadly she was hit and killed by a car. We all mourned her loss. But it took a few months before Milo stopped looking for her. Soon, those neighbors moved and they left behind a third cat, Murphy the Holstein cat (yep, he looks like a cow). Taking him in helped a lot for Milo. Poor Murph has a lot of trouble trusting people after he’d been abandoned. But he’s slowly made us his people. I am glad that new dog dad found you all. You may help work miracles for that dog and his person.

The only difference is my neighbor has a doggy door and takes excellent care of her babies, but every morning between 3 and 4 a.m., her German Shepard and 2 other smaller dogs come outside and bark for hours. It wakes me up every night. I finally texted and asked her nicely if there was anything she could do but never heard back, and it still continues. We have lived next door to each other for over 20 years. The German Shepard is still a pup. He is a year or two old. I won't ask again because she just lost her husband of 15 years to colon cancer. After they quite and went to bed shortly after 2 the recording was turned on and blasted back at them for the same amount of hours. It never happened again! All the neighbors were aware of what was happening and some legt for the night while others jusr weathered it. One way to do it!

Some guy came over and yelled at me that I had better train my dog not to bark because it was "the only dog in the area that barks". My dog was barking at him because he was standing 10 feet from her. Of course she barked at him. Anyway, every dog in the area barks at some point and no one else had any issues with mine. She doesn't bark steadily and she doesn't bark at night. We've got a neighbor with a generator like your last year neighbors, from 6 am every day.

2 houses down from me left their dog out last winter barking all day ! I called the police/animal control and gave them a lecture because they really don’t give a shit but I do. My next move was knocking in their door if it kept up the next day. It was in the 20’s then ….i have a pet door , my dog goes out when she wants , dogs need care and attention, if you’re going to treat them poorly, don’t have one. This guy sounds like he drinks, passed out is the only way you can sleep thru noise . I hope he finds him a new home , this guy is not a pet lover at all !
