What lens do you use for car photo/videography? I am going to go to a carshow and the organizer asked me to do some pics and vids and I have the 50mm 1.8 and the 85mm 1.8. Am I ok with them or is that necessary to use a wide angle lens like a 24 or 35mm?

I just got a Sony a7ii last week and I been binge watching your videos like crazy! very informative and easy to watch. Quick question, why did you set your iso so low?
@TheCarCreative Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching man! Means a ton having your support! And glad you’re getting some good info from them also. 👊🏼 ISO is like adding artificial light to a scene. In photography I try and set it so that I’m only using the natural light coming into the camera through the aperture and shutter speed. If it is a darker scene that is when I would start to add ISO if my lens and shutter speed couldn’t compensate for the light well enough. In video though there are time when you would set you iso to what is called the “native ISO” and that iso point is set to utilize the full range of the cameras dynamic range in video. This cameras native iso is 640. It is possible I should have set it there for photos also, but my knowledge doesn’t go that deep haha. As long as I’m not adding noise in the image with fake light (iso) then I’m happy. Does that make sense?
@FireHazrd668 Жыл бұрын
@@TheCarCreative yes that makes sense! I just had a show outside but I was shooting at a higher ISO ~100. I’m going to slammedenuff Chicago where there’s going to be a warehouse indoor show. I only have a Sony a7ii with a kit lens of 28-70 but the aperture stops at 3.5. What would you suggested shooting indoors in a warehouse setting?

Love a good POV video, shots are killer of course. That's a very interesting take on the pov cam setup/angle, I tried giving pov a shot when I was in Calgary using a chest mount and not sure if I even got enough usable for a couple reels. Back to the drawing board for me I guess lol

@TheCarCreative Жыл бұрын
Yes, often I set my aperture and iso (lowest possible), and that way I can use my shutter speed to get the exposure I want in camera without changing depth (aperture) or adding any extra noise (ISO). Shutter speed is the best way, in these conditions, to control the exposure.

I have a Sony a3000 (cheap, mirrorless) with a broken viewfinder, it has a wide angle lens and a zoom lens. Do you have any videos on how to avoid reflections in photography/videography and how to adjust your camera settings depending on the environment? I haven't really shot anything with it and I think I can really improve my craft by just learning and repetition.

For removing reflection from any sort of object you can use circular polariser filter often said as (CPL FILTER)
