Less than a month after I bought my 2024 mazda cx5 the indicator on the dash said my batteries were low. I watched the first you tube video I found. It said use a 2025 battery. Once I opened the remote I saw i needed a 2032! So I searched until I found this video. The instructions are clear and concise, and since I didn't open the batteries, I can take them back for an exchange. I'm so confident I probably won't need the video, but I'll keep it on hand just in case. Thank you!

Another ridiculous design courtesy of Mazda. Don't get me wrong I love my Mazda I've been buying them forever but why do you have to make changing the battery on the key fob so darn hard. Thank you so much for all your help in this video it was very helpful

Thanks for sharing. On my car, there is not slot for a key to open the door. The key in the fob is to lock the glove box. Watching from Ontario Canada🎉

Hello Sean. Have a look on your door handles, both passenger and drivers side. Have a look for the symbol of a key. I expect that the door lock is covered over with a plastic cap. Under the cap is a door lock that you will need if the car battery ever goes flat

Just one little detail. My new battery had a sticky label on it. It has to be removed, otherwise the fob won't work.

Just got a 21 cx30. Second key had no battery in it. Replaced the battery and still nothing

@@TheCarKeyMan ya it starts the car, but doesnt lock unlock. The little red light never came on. I tried taking it out of sleep mode, still nothing. I noticed some rust and corrosion around where the battery should have been.

@@TheCarKeyMan the dealership was going to reprogram the key, but yesterday they sent us to their key guy and he jus made us a new key. He said since i seen rust/corrosion, someone prob dropped it in a puddle or something, so it was most likely not going to work. He also said these keys are terrible. He has a pile of them with all sorts of different problems that cant be fixed. We got a case for the one that was working, he said very smart. These keys just explode when they get dropped and they are very expensive. You're lucky and smart for getting that case. Get another one for this new one cause they always brake
