Thank you for your slow and precise instructions on this process. I could not get a local locksmith to even find a fob to replace my Kia fob. I ordered one from the internet and it came with no instructions. Your video has helped me successfully repair my fob.

Using that key which comes out of the fob is so hard , no real purchase my girlfriend couldn’t turn it to open the door , is there any attachments for the detachable key to make it easier to use in the event of having to use it should the fob stop working ?

Wow ! Glad I looked for these kind of videos my car is having the same problem ! But the immobiliser flashes when it happens ?! I’ve took to timpsons to replace the key battery and he said it has very bad signal and it may need reprogramming i have tried myself this morning after watching a few videos to no avail ! It’s only happening sometimes but is annoying ! I have a fiesta 57 plate this will be my next project thanks :)
@TheCarKeyMan9 күн бұрын
Hello, if you gave a bladed key, then the battery won’t make a difference.
@alyalhakimi9 күн бұрын
This key will never switch the car on it will just open the doors cos this guy did not move the immobiliser chip from the old key to the new one
@TheCarKeyMan9 күн бұрын
Hello, the chip is integrated into the green circuit board. There isn’t a separate chip to swap over. I do these all day long
@alyalhakimi9 күн бұрын
@TheCarKeyMan maybe in USA is different but in UK we have a transponding chip which gets the car to start. Your video is so helpful I used it to change my key fob case and all . Thanks for uploading the video 👍

Well, I had the same idea as you exactly, I know this video 7 years ago but still useful today 2024, the problem I have is the thing that holds the key snapped, I bought new key shell in order to replace just that circular thing that holds the key unfortunately in your video you didn't show how you get the screw out 😢, I am not able to get the screw out, i want to keep my old key with everything and replace just that

Morning, i jave pit a new battery in the key and also checked the pins inside the key fob to make sure they arent pushed down as per this video and they are in good condition. However my key still isnt detected. I have to use the manual key to enter the car (alarm goes off) then wheni put the key in the alarm goes off and i can start the car. But I still can't lock/ unlock using the buttons on the fob. Any ideas on how I can re programme the key?
@Ellie_grey15 күн бұрын
So my blade’s jammed inside the case thingy and I was originally here to see if I can do it myself. Nope, it seems it’ll be a mess around without the tools. Off to the locksmith I go 😂
@SilviaRoberts-z5q15 күн бұрын
how can you just push the pin back in?
