You're a life saver, thanks for this. I have a 2013 Jazz and didn't realise there was a screw in the key fob, excellent instructions.

@@TheCarKeyMan Thanks for this tutorial video. We followed it step-by-step to make sure we took the key fob apart,changed the battery and put it all together again correctly,and it worked a treat. Unfortunately there appears to be something iffy about the little screw in our particular key fob - I had a devil of a job getting it to come out as at first it was stuck fast,and now it won't engage with the thread to go back in however much I try,and I was being very careful not to damage the thread.

What an easy to follow video. Without it I would not have been able to change the battery. There are far more bits to it than on my other Honda key. Thanks again.

Thanks very much for this clear instruction and taking the time to film it - this is the same type of key as is used in my 2010 Honda CRV. The battery ran out on my spare key years ago and has lain in the drawer ever since. This gave me the confidence to source the correct type (CR1616 £3.99 for two off Amazon) and fit it avoiding any future problems if the other key battery ran out. Appreciated.

Same key as the UK made 2012-15 Civic. Looked for ages for this video, as could figure out how to open the battery module. Many thanks for your help...ended up being so simple!

Excellent! I spent quite a bit of time searching and kept getting US sites with a different fob, which was of no help. This was exactly what I was looking for and it's a great help. Cheers from Down Under.

Excellent. Exactly the same key as mine, worked a treat. I was stuck at first because, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get that little screw to budge. Eventually after the application a of a little WHITE VINEGAR the screw came out easy-peezy.

Hi Peter, nice tip! I wonder why that worked so well? Thansk for the feedback :)
@petergoodman8378 Жыл бұрын
@@TheCarKeyMan I had previously tried the obvious - WD40, with no joy. I figure that the key, having had several owners over ten years, had probably gathered grease and other gunk around the screw from being handled. The white vinegar is of course good at degreasing items. That's my theory anyway but nobody was more surprised than me when it actually worked.🐨

Hi, I just purchased a 2013 Honda Jazz from the Stoneacre Honda Dealer, but only got one key. Should there be 2, and if so is it up to them to supply the missing one? PS thank you for the video, even this 76year-old lady would have a go at that now!
@TheCarKeyMan2 жыл бұрын
Hi Gail, there are no rules on how many keys you should get when you buy a car. You'd hope for two, but car sales will always try and spend as little as possible on a car when they sell it, and if the second key is missing when it is traded in, then they will try and get away with selling with just one key.
@gaildaniels3272 жыл бұрын
@@TheCarKeyMan Thanks for the explanation, I guess thats just what they did. I am going to get another one, though, so no losing it and being in another mess! Lol!

@foadelkhamlichi66374 жыл бұрын
@@TheCarKeyMan my spare key case is cracked and being held together by tape. I have purchased a new Honda spare key but will need to transfer the key and unlocking mechanism to the new case. The electronic unlocking mechanism is easy enough but I'm lost as to how to transfer the ignition key itself that starts the car.
