Have had mine a couple years. Major complaints are: Forward radar can become misaligned and the cruise control runs off that. To get that repaired is not a warranty fix. It’s “wear and tear” Over $500 to get it replaced and realigned. Problem with my bench seats are: The release to get the seats to fold are plastic. They often get jammed. One release was stuck I gave it a good tug and it broke. Couple $100 to have the dealer fix. Another gripe is that the release sometimes won’t catch completely but sounds like it does. My sons seat folded with him in it slamming him on the drivers back. Also curious third row passengers can release the seat while in motion. That happened only once. Other than that. We love the Atlas. Awesome space in the third row. I believe it has the most third room space WITH room for storage. Love the digital speedometer. Heated wheel. Super quiet inside. Rides so smooth also. Great review!

I own a 2021 atlas. It’s a beautiful, large, sleek car. Drives so smooth. What I don’t love about it is that it’s been at the dealership twice for random hoses needing to be replaced and currently there for an airbag error recall for a back ordered part. My car will be at the dealership anywhere from 1-3 months. When I get it back I am trading it in. According to VW this is pretty common for the atlas. I do not recommend buying an atlas and would not buy vw again!

I took it to two VW dealerships and it’s a known issue. They say: yeah it sounds awful but it’s safe. The infotainment system is SOOOOO GLITCHY. it connects. It doesn’t connect. The rearview camera stays on when in drive. It charges your phone. It doesn’t charge your phone. And the car BEEPS CONSTANTLY. Pull up to a clear intersection? Beeeeep. Pass a tree stump on your left? Beeeeeep. Sneeze? Beeeeeep. A close of mine also has an atlas and has all the same complaints. No chance I'm picking this over a Telluride. Dollar-for-dollar, the Telluride offers the better deal. There are no compromises for paying less - the Telluride offers features the Atlas doesn't. The VW V6 is weaker and the VW fuel economy is worse. And, subjectively, the Telluride looks much nicer than the busy and chunky Atlas. The Atlas feels like a rental vehicle - the interior is dull and the surfaces feel cheap in many spots. Get the smart choice. Telluride. Heck...get the Palisade. Or Highlander. Get a Traverse. The Atlas is disappointing from VW, the brand that once sold the far more interesting and capable (albeit smaller) Touareg. Get it together, VW.

My wife has a 2021 Volkswagen atlas. She hit a deer in May 2023 seven months ago and it has been sitting at the autobody shop every sense. The autobody shop cannot source of hood or bumper and Volkswagen cannot tell us when they’re going to manufacture, a hood or bumper. this is left us with insurance and car payment but no car to drive. I would not buy a Volkswagen atlas or any other Volkswagen because they are not manufacturing parts to repair their cars.
