Good review as always, but we'd love a few more minutes of detail. For example, aren't there are some large, fixed vents in the back storage area that help circulate airflow and offset the lack of overhead 2nd row vents? Also, the monitor is a touchscreen when using Carplay or Android Auto. Plus, the screen is somewhat far from the driver's reach, so the center console wheel is safer for the driver.

So a few things; the infotainment screen is a touchscreen when using Android Auto or Apple Carplay. The center console is shallow because the orientation of the inline 6 takes up space in the center console area. Lastly, I wouldn't call it a copy /paste delete. The 70 has a different front and rear bumper design and blacked out chrome that gives a sportier look compared tothe cx 90. We actually bought the 70 Turbo S Premium over the 90 because it looked nice and we didn't need a 3rd row at all.

Infotainment is a touch screen for Android Auto and Car play. I can navigate that dial without even looking at the screen. Way safer imo.

I wouldn’t have a problem owning a VW but in my area there are no dealerships. We had one years ago but no more. I owned a Volvo once and I bought it from a dealer 100 miles away because of no dealership and boy did I regret that. After about 4 years I started having electrical problems which was a pita getting it to the dealer. So I’m only buying what I can have easily serviced from now on.

Can’t believe they haven’t fixed the ventilation issue. I’ve experienced the same thing in my CX-50. The heater works great in the winter, but the AC struggles in 110 temps. My Santa Fe had no problem. Also, the screen is a touchscreen if you change the settings. It’s not just CarPlay that allows touchscreen.

Can i ask why the cx-70 doesn’t have vented rear seats like the cx-90?

The CX-90/CX-70 are good cars, but it feels like Mazda intentionally self sabotages their vehicles. Drive train and fuel mileage are great in the segment, as is interior quality, but if they could just optimize interior space and do the little things that others in the segment excel at, they’d absolutely crush all their competitors. But little design quirks here and there drive potential customers to the bigger names. The recent reliability issues popping up with these two are not helping either.

I’ll go with the RAV4 phev.

I'm a mom of 3 and me and my kids absolutely LOVE this car! Ours is very close in spec to the one you just reviewed. Also, my oldest has a rigid wheelchair (the wheels can come off, but the frame does not collapse). He's around 5' tall and with the third row down, the wheelchair fits with more space around for other things. I'm also a sports mom and the fact that the middle seat on the bench goes down for when we have to haul the tent is a win. I get to feel like a cool Mom and still be a Mom. LOL. You're right though. My youngest is a very tall eleven year old and so not having any car seats helps. I no longer need to be a chauffeur. I can have one ride shotgun and two in the back. Everyone is really enjoying it. 9/10 for us.

Sunshades are available on the higher trims! I LOVE mine. Now, the squealing brakes I’m not a fan of, but they are fixing them. I just have to wait several months. 🙄

in defense of space in the back. The door thickness is no better, when comparing the outside of the door to the side of the carseat. The rear door also has some thickness to it.

I bought the 2024 Cross Sport SEL R-Line last October. I wanted Pure Gray, but the dealerships i visited didn't have any in stock so I settled for Silver Mist Metallic. Despite that, I really enjoy the vehicle very much.

Thanks for your input. I went and looked at one like yours and wanted to buy it for our childcare business. The one thing keeping me from buying one is the big kid forward facing car-seats I have don't seem to be able to install in the final 4 across row nor in the smaller more narrow seat off to the side in that 2nd row. The seats are just too narrow and require a full long path seatbelt installation rather than latch. Further trying to install one of these in the 2nd row it leaves zero leg room for the kids who would have their legs squeezed against the seat in front of them the entire time! Not very well thought out by Ford in this regard IMO. Would be better to have the first 3 across row for every seat going back and then sacrifice a little cargo room to give each row a bit more leg clearance! Come On Ford! Such a disappointment!

There are other options and trim packages available. They're not all that basic.

We are able to fit our Vista 2 stroller with two seats in the trunk by removing the lid! My husband is a Tetris genius. Now we’re pregnant with our 3rd and trying to figure out where to best place all the car seats. Ages: 3.5yo, 2yo and newborn. We have a Nuna Execc for the 3.5yo, Graco Extend2Fit for the 2yo and a Nuna Pipa for the newborn. Thank you so much if you are able and willing to share any tips!!
