I remember going up in the Citrus Tower with my Grandparents back in the early 70s, all you saw was orange Groves as far as you could see! Now you go up in the Citrus Tower and all you see is houses, shoppes and restaurants as far as you can see. So sad..

My first trip to Orlando was 7/4/76 The Bicentennial Year, Carter was President! Visited Orange World, Stars Hall of Fame Wax Museum, Disney, Sea World, and Gatorland. My Mom used to live in Kissimmee.. My wife is actually from Port St Lucie, Fl, and we have friends in Orlando now. We usually do Disney with the kids first, and now Grandkids, and stay on sight for about a week. Got a trip booked in May 2024.

Every year, on our annual road trip to Florida, my family would stop at the Citrus Tower. Many fond memories of childhood. Also, I'm quite sure that wasn't Inspector Gadget or Maxwell Smart. I'm positive that was Mr. Humphrey Bogart as Sam Spade from, in my humble opinion, one of the greatest movies ever made, the Maltese Falcon.

23:39 MBS was called Mutual Broadcasting System, to compete with NBC and CBS. Unlike their competitors, MBS never went into television during the TV Golden age due to their dire financial situation in the 1950s, other companies including 3M would own MBS at certain times, Westwood One and Cumulus Media bought out MBS and discontinued the name by the 1990s, but MBS was on the road to failure by the late 1950s. When MBS was around and popular during the 1930s, there was actually no ABC Radio then. Actually, ABC Radio was a spinoff of NBC since NBC had 2 networks, the red network and the NBC Blue Network. The Blue Network would later become ABC by 1943 while NBC kept the Red Network.
