The display with the ventriloquist dolls was from the movie “ Dead Silence” and the woman was Mary Shaw, a really good film IMO and an understated horror, so was nice to see it honoured!

For anyone who is curious, Yowie chocolates are from Australia. The collectable animals inside used to be in little bits you would put together yourself and the little slip of paper told you all about your animal. I still have so many of these! From their website: Meet the Yowie! Rumble, Squish, Crag, Boof, Nap and Ditty are here to teach us about endangered animals, their habitats, and all the reasons why it’s important to protect these animals in the wild. Each Yowie is responsible for protecting a different habitat and are friends with all the animals who live there. Rumble and the gang were first sighted in Australia back in the 1990s by adventurous rangers. Yowie is the Australian word for ‘sasquatch’ and actually means ‘hairy people’ - our six furry Yowie friends are definitely hairy! The Yowie all live together in the Yowasis where they are ALWAYS ready to jump into action to come to the defense of wild animals and the habitats they protect.

Thats so amazing that you gave us so much information and back story. Thank you for taking the time to share this with us. I will definitely be checking out the web site. To see if i can get a box or 2. That way i can give them to my grandkids & teach them about the animals. Also I will let them know that they are helping to maintain the habitats. Thanks again

I'm amazed that the food tasted the same. In my youth, I worked at the best pizza place in town. Over the years they changed to a commercially made crust from handmade and changed the sauce and sausage resulting in not having the same taste. It's a shame that cost-cutting and labor reduced to lower costs made an inferior product.

From Michigan, actually close to Detroit, but in the suburb of Garden City, " We serve fun at Shakey's, we've got old time music, we serve fun at Shakey's, we've got old time songs, we serve fun at Shakey's, we've got player pianos, we serve fun at Shakey's, also pizza!" The theme song on the commercial on TV back in the 1970's n 1980's, then they disappeared!!! What a great memory!!! Loved Pumpkin Rock n the Sideshow was awesome!!! Attaboy, Carpetbagger!!!

That's commitment getting all the way to the top of that mountain for a huge pumpkin rock. You had your Crocs in sport mode. Lol 🎃🪨 That chocolate "Yowie" is legal in TN for sure. My daughter loves them! They always come with some kind of little animal inside. Also, that's a really cool museum! I love creepy things. Especially if you get to just walk through and get a good look at everything without being chased around. Although it did have some good creepy jump scares. The nun would have made me pass out! 😂😂😂

I remember eating at Shakey's once, we used to have two locations in Madison, WI. They closed while I was still to young to go myself. We also learned that movie parents should never be allowed to pick decor for their children's bedrooms. If left to their own devices they pick out scary, possessed clowns.

Grew up in East Chicago, IN, Cal' City had the nearest Shakey's until they opened one in Highland, IN, on Indianapolis Blvd. My favorite memory of Shakey's at the Cal City location were the silent movies playing on the wall. Loved going there to watch the silent movies, although I don't remember too much about them. I know the majority of them were of Charlie Chaplin. Great memories.

Oh I remember Yowies when I was a kid. We had them in Ireland. The deal with them is that you'd get a pretty god quaility animal figure on the inside, and they'd usually come with a little information leaflet about that animal. They were an effort to teach kids about unique wildlife around the world.
