As a KC native I am so glad you came to visit! We don’t have much out here but places like the Toy and Miniature Museum are definitely our must sees! I wish you could have seen Dave though, he is a local celebrity in Lawrence. Pretty much any arts student at KU has a Dave sticker somewhere on their stuff. Thank you for visiting!! Next time stop at KC Joe’s BBQ, it’s a must have imo.

28:20 I bought a Naugy Doll from the Naugatuck Historical Museum last fall! My husband grew up in Naugatuck and we visited his family there. It's a very small town, the former home of the Peter Paul Candy Factory that used to make Almond Joy and Mounds, until it was bought by the Hershey company, and eventually moved production to Virginia, then to Robinson IL. Its fate is the same as all the other small industrial American towns when all the companies pulled out to manufacture overseas instead. But I found that the locals who stayed on take a lot of pride in the history of their town. ❤️

My husband and I purchased a new Atari system for $128 with two games. I think it was space invaders and a very pixelated one with a dragon-like figure going through a one-dimensional castle…if you can call it that. It had lines for walls. But, we loved it.

My solution to the question of bumper stickers is to buy sheet magnet and put the sticker on that. Then I cut out around it and put that on my car. The magnetic sheet does tend to heat up a bit more but the stickers still last quite a while and can be removed for washing. I also use decals instead of actual stickers. I have tiny holographic stars on my dark blue car because it was too boring.

The miniature house at 4:13 has locks that can be opened with miniature keys. There are also miniature pianos that can actually be played and a miniature camera that actually works. The difference between a toy and a miniature is that a miniature must be a scale replica of a pre-existing item.

Yikes... Frame 22:44 I was given that toy Indian as a small child. It was OK as long as he was drumming, but what freaked me out was what came next... You'd turn him on an he'd start beating the drum. Then he'd stop, start making a War Cry noise, while sticking his tongue in & out. ( you can't see the tongue because its inside his mouth in this shot ). I must have been 3yr old when I got it.
