@catanace1741
@catanace1741 11 ай бұрын
@KZbinReviewsAndTutorials An 8 is very unlikely anyway, given the pre-flop action. What Tom really needs to be worried about is pocket aces and kings. There are 24 possible hands with AA or KK that beat him. His QQ is obviously only a bluff catcher at that point, so which bluff hands can the other guy have here? First of all, there are 16 AK combos. In addition there might be some A2-5 of diamonds too, and perhaps even some KQ, QJ, J10 of diamonds (assuming that Tom didn't have the Q of diamonds). So there are almost as many bluffing hands that villain might have there as value hands, making the call not-so-sick, if you disregard the insane amout of money in the pot.

At a certain point you're just in too deep. He could have folded after the first couple bets, but eventually you've already bet so much that you might as well try to scare your opponent off. You either lose your money guaranteed, or you take a chance of getting a payout. When you can afford to just buy back in (like this guy did in this session afterwards), you might as well go for it.

Especially when tom 4 bets. If tom just called the 3 bet then 3 barrel bluff has a better chance of working. Wes doesnt think what tom could have and ask himself if he can get him off of a big pocket pair cuz thats basically what tom is repping either JJ or QQ and maybe KK.

One lesson, gentlefolk, is if your continuation bet is called and you don't have a pair or a draw, you're very probably behind, which further means the chances are good that if you fire two more barrels, you're getting called all the way, assuming blanks come on the turn and river. Side Note: the effective amount of your flop and turn bets are not the face amount of those bets, if you assume that if an Ace or King is dealt either of those cards will put you in the lead. To calculate the effective cost of those bets, multiply by 6/47 the amount of your bet plus the amount you'll win if called; then subtract that amount from the face value of your bet. The total is then the actual cost of your bet. Experienced expert players will quickly calculate this amount in their heads at the table. If that's not you, you should get in the habit of figuring the effective cost of your bets as you make them.

Even if I had that kind of money to gamble with, it would make me physically sick to bet that much money on one hand of poker. Even if I had a Royal Flush I still couldn’t do it. If I had that much money to burn it would give me a lot of peace & joy to use it to help homeless veterans or abused/neglected children. And of course my absolute favorite charity, Dogs on Death Row. They provide financial support to save adoptable dogs that end up in kill shelters. I’ve been donating to them regularly for over 20 years now. They have literally saved probably close to a million dogs & helped them find their fur-ever homes with families that love them. That gives me a level of true joy & happiness that money can’t buy ❤️🐶❤️
