I've been praying the rosary daily for over a year now and after the first week or so i was already cured of my porn addiction. To say it is a weapon is an understatement. Exorcists have said that it is precisely the repetition of the prayers the demons cannot stand and will not stick around to hear more. For us its monotony but our Lady's rosary is as it is for good reason. Pray the rosary daily, heal your soul, heal the world. Ad Jesum per Mariam. Ave Maria!

This popped up as I was doom scrolling on KZbin distracting myself from life. Well I started listening, stopped, and prayed my rosary and came back and finished the video. When I converted 5 years ago the rosary was such a powerful practice that helped me during some real darkness. I need to go back this practice and discipline. I used to have horrible nightmares every night and I woke up in despair, it was as if there was always an evil presence next to my bed just waiting for me to sleep to come and torment me, but after starting to pray the rosary this evil presence disappeared and today I can sleep a lot well thanks to GOD and our lady she hides me from the devil under her mantle, thank you holy mother

I have the same problem. It feels like the dark creature sometimes kicks me viciously on my back or even try to strangle me. It is very frightening. Sometimes I just feel it’s presence or a terrible despair inside me. It doesn’t happen if I sleep with my husband or children. So I have taken to praying the divine chaplet of mercy when I get these problems, then I sleep peacefully.🙏

What a nice title!!!! God bless you and yours 🙏😊 I just wanted to add something about a story I recently heard, and it's a true story about saying one Hail Mary and the Power of even One Hail Mary. There was this man who liked to jog every morning first thing, and so this one particular morning he saw an ambulance in the driveway of one of the neighbors. He didn't know who the neighbor was, but he said let me say one Hail Mary for this person. So he said they Hail. Mary and just went on his way. Well... A short time afterwards he heard a knock at the door and there was this lady who he didn't recognize. She knew his name though and she told him the following story. She said you are the one who said one Hail Mary while jogging, and I ended up in the hospital and the Lord appeared to me and said that I was going to die but because you said that one Hail Mary I continued to live! Jesus gave her his name and where he lived and that's how she showed up on his doorstep with this incredible story. So I just wanted to share that with you to encourage one on how powerful even One Hail Mary is. I'm a convert to the Catholic Church from the Episcopalian Church at the age of 20 in 1964. My sister also is a convert. The other thing I wanted to tell you is that when you are saying the Rosary, picture Our Lady right there in front of you, which she is in reality, but we can't see her and say the Rosary with all the devotion you can, knowing that she's right there listening. If you really saw her there, you'd be on your knees for sure. And each Hail Mary and each Meditation would be absolutely strong from your heart. But we can do the same thing in spirit knowing that she's there and we honor her in this devotion. Yes of course there's times were tired, and she sees the EFFORTS that we make and she's very appreciative of that. At times it can be more difficult and that's understandable, but we plow on. Anyway, God sees the heart and He KNOWS where we're really coming from, and what we really mean. And if we pray SINCERELY, even if we're tired and a bit put out or upset witht something, God understands that. Our lady understands that. So no fears of worries. It's wonderful to see the men Praying the Rosary. Just another quick little story. There was a lady who went to Mexico and she went to a Church to go to Mass and she was flabbergasted that all the women were inside, and all the men were sitting outside on the steps! Oh my. I wonder if any of those men ever said a Rosary?! Okay, God bless you and everyone dear to your heart.😊🌹👑🕊️😇🙏

Please promote Rosary as much as possible, we are in spiritual warfare and many Christians' give up just because they are not aware of the spiritual warfare and how to fight this battle with the help of rosary. Our blessed mother is our helper in our christian journey. There are many protestants and other fellow christians who are against the rosary because they have never prayed and experienced it themselves, don't be discouraged of them and keep praying because many have been converted through the intercession of our blessed mother.

Praying the rosary is like anything else, the more you do it the better you get. I get something from it every time. I can pray more than one prayer. Like one at the top of my mind, another one on the bottom. I think of it as a gateway like a communication portal to heaven. I imagine all of us praying and those prayers raising upwards to God which he uses as he chooses. I imagine pleasing Mary, each Hail Mary a rose for her. To help me think of the right things during Hail Marys I break up the prayer into phrases that I think about, each part of each sentence. I really believe the Creed and it sets the tone for each rosary, and each rosary is another opportunity to pray for something else. Now, rosaries go by so fast, sometimes I can do 2 mysteries in a session. In a perfect world I would do 4 mysteries every day. If I’m woken up by anxiety i know God or Mary is wanting me to say a Rosary. I definitely notice if I don’t say it. Also whenever the devil attacks I start the rosary, which the Devil hates. This works for me for any kind of stress, pressure or confusion. I’ve benefited and this gift is for all.

I am making a habit to pray the rosary on my commute to work. Many times I have forgotten my beads. At those times, I use my own fingers to pray the decades. There's a certain cemetery that I pass on my way to work, and that flips the switch in my head and heart to pray for the suffering souls in purgatory... other times, I may offer up a rosary for my wife as well... what better prayer to pray for them than the holy rosary!! 🙏🏼

Pine - Your insights and experiences are perhaps the most helpful comments that help me "relax" and trust that Christ and the Lord will "work with me" to perfect my intentions and my actions. I have found group prayers of the Rosary most difficult for me because their pace of praying does not coincide with my personal pace...faster than my own thought process. I want to learn and internalize the Rosary on a personal level, and this has been difficult. Later in the show - ANGER - this discussion so reaffirming for me. I am a late-in-life Christian convert who moved into the Catholic church - the only Catholic in my family...you reaffirm my faith direction. I have worked to replace anger with intentional and loving expression (verbal and behavioral) of LOVE OF CHRIST in all relationships/discussions that come to me. Thanks so much for this discussion. I find it strange that the Rosary is described as boring. To me it is never boring. In fact it is a fountain of life, often the trigger of a profound spiritual experience, always a mood lifter, the cause of a more rapid spiritual growth than I could ever have imagined, a source of spiritual consolation, an instrument against evil and temptations. In fact, it has become an integral part of my daily life. I strongly recommend it to those who desire a relatively rapid change in their lives.( I converted to the Catholic faith just a few years ago. )

Thanks for the comment. You set up a classic false dichotomy that protestants constantly fall victim to. It is not an either/or reality but a both/and relationship with God. No one said the Rosary was needed to pray to God, but it is undeniably useful. I talk to God throughout the day, both in my mental prayer time in the morning, as well as my prayers of petition and intercession throughout the day. Yet, I still find time to pray the Rosary at the end of the day and meditate on the Life of Christ to grow deeper in my understanding of His life, virtues, and love. Blessings to you as well.

Externally the Rosary appears to be hust an object - but it is only an object to those who do not know its pirpose and how to use it. It does not replace our normal prayers, but it teaches, trains and aids us to know what it means to walk in the Spirit and how to di so. Whenever the Rosary is prayed earnestly, the Holy Sporit draws near and illuminates the mind with things never imagined. The inevitable fruit is that one's mind is filled with awe and love for God. It supersedes all other means of transfirming the mind to the likeness of Christ because even children and the unlearned are quicky edified by it. But these benefits only come in fullness to those who understand how ti use it. Remember that Hesus is the focal point of the Rosary. May that which is hidden in it be revealed to you. God be with you.

You need the holy spirit of the living God to be able to read and understand those words that Jesus said in the bible that the Father has hidden them but then revealed to mere children. Father my life has been nothing but tumultuous 99.9%. The rosary has guided my day to day life. Nothing I do isn't apart of our mothers wishes or our the holy spirits will. Thank you gentlemen. I humbly started praying the rosary daily on Feb 17, 2021. As discussed it has been both fruitful and dry, kind of like a beautiful wine. And thank you Fr. Pine for the discussion on externally showing of one’s faith and devotion. I wear my scapular, have a wrist rosary and a band on my wrist that says, “Here I am”. Then I also carry a rosary in my pocket. Sometimes I feel like I NEED to wear these. But I think I’m going to pare them down. I am a committed man of faith and if I carry myself with virtue then I should be fine with that. People will witness it without the decor. God bless.

@TheMilitantPrayer Amen. This sounds excellent. You hit on the deep importance, in my humble opinion, of having a Spiritual Director. My director recently had me pair down some mortifications for the sake of my health and family. I would not have done that without his guidance. But doing so under obedience is freeing. I know many men that love to engage in dialogue about the Faith and they find that these external sacramentals help them stir up conversations (not what Sam was referring to). They do so for a true love of engagement as well as have control over their emotions. I will be honest, this is not me at this point in my life. I love conversations and am happy to have them, especially about the Faith, but allow my life and daily actions bring them to me. AMDG - John

I consider the recitation of the Rosary very important principally because Our Blessed Mother tells us to do so. I know that she is with God in heaven and most favored by God and I also want to be favored by God. She told the girls at Garabandal to add: "and my mother" in the Holy Mary; eg: Holy Mary, mother of God - and my mother - pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death, Amen. The message I got from this is that the 2nd part of the Hail Mary is not scriptural and therefore a change is not frowned upon. With that understanding I have several other changes to the Holy Mary which lengthen the Rosary some 10minutes. I'm in no rush to finish the Rosary and appreciate to be able to spend more time in prayer. I find it especially great in particular when driving somewhere. It makes the time go quickly. If one is interested, I've added the following in different areas of the Holy Mary: "most favored of women", "most pure", "together with St Joseph your most chaste spouse", "with all the angels and saints and our family in heaven" Holy Mary, most favored among women, mother of God and our Mother, together with St Joseph with all the angels and saints and my family in heaven, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death, AMEN.

If I get sleepy, I will pray it standing or walking. The evil one will cause people to be distracted and sleepy to prevent you from praying it. Don’t give up and do what helps you finish it. At 9am every morning EWTN, Sanctuaire Notre~Dame de Lourdes, broadcasts live the rosary being prayed at the grotto, Lourdes France. This has beautifully deepened my praying the rosary, with others. The rosary is truly a priceless treasure.

I do say the Rosary almost every night. I'm old and sometimes I get too tired. Saturday nights are particularly difficult because I go to Mass and come home tired. I have to start disciplining myself to do it earlier in the day on Saturday. But I've noticed something. I have discerned a generational curse of gastrointentional problems and I understand and renounce the source. They've only become problematic for me in the last year or so. I have put an icon of St. Erasmus next to my bed and I pray to him about it. But when I do my rosary, I am afflicted. I start belching horribly, fortunately I live alone. It tends to reach a peak around the third decade and then tapers off. I have started keeping Holy Water next to me and sprinkle it when that happens. That "thing" is persistent but I'm moreso. I always say the St. Michael prayer at the end, maybe I should start with that. Anyone have any thoughts. Hmmm, I think I'll put another Erasmus icon next to where I eat. BTW, I'm a widow with no men in my life, no brothers, sons, uncles, etc. But I'm traditional. I have been praying for a husband to come alongside me for the remainder of my life. One who can encourage me and strengthen me when I feel weak.

Excellent. I find praying the rosary on KZbin with Fr. Bishop Barron is excellent. The works of art are amazing and so beautiful. The words are my prayer but the art work helps me focus on why I am saying them. It's almost like the art invokes the subtext of the prayers. I am saddened to hear that killing animals has become part of Catholic male identity but where there's life there's hope. Thanks for a thoughtful program. May Christ's peace be with you.

This is how I was tuaght to pray the Rose garden. As you enter each decade, Pray the Our Father and then State the mystery, think it through step by step, briefly, what happened. Then focus on hailing mary, Glory be and O my jesus, forgive us our sins. Amen. Our father, State the mystery, Hail mary for the rest of the decade. And thta is how you get theough the mysteries per day. Each decade holds one of the 5 musteries under the topic of the mystery of the day. Monday ; Joyful Tuesday ; Sorrowful Wednesday ; Glorious Thursday ; Luminous Friday ; Sorrowful Saturday ; Jorful Sunday ; Glorious

I heard an answer to the question at Minit Mart 46 that I thought I would go ahead and share. We all will have dry spells where we will not want to do something but if you make a habit of doing the thing on a daily basis, you will overcome that you make your bed every day. It won’t be a question you just do it if the problem is starting to pray then pre-small do one deck it, but make it a habit every day.

I’ve often been conflicted on the Rosary: I love it for its beauty, history, and simplicity in its essentials, but I also find it extremely frustrating due to the common instructions to somehow mix praying attentively with simultaneous meditation. I find this impossible to do and I’ve come close to dropping the Rosary in the past. I’ve settled in to simply recalling the mystery at the beginning of the decade and then focusing as well as I can on the prayers.

That is difficult. One suggestion that I picked up from a Fr. Michael Gaitely book was to insert a short phrase pertaining to the mystery after the Holy Name of Jesus in each Hail Mary. This may be a Germanic technique. It has been a while since I read the book. I have found this technique very helpful. My mind still tends to wander, and I may not say it with every Hail Mary. It helps to anchor the Hail Mary to the mystery. For the Annunciation, I will say, "Hail Mary . . . Jesus, the long awaited Messiah conceived by the Holy Spirit, Holy Mary . . ." Many of the phrases I use I have taken from the Creed, Scripture, or the mass. This technique has really helped me as I contemplate the mysteries. The phrases I use change over time and are a fruit of the contemplation. May God bless your prayer life!

You are doing it right, some can use imagination of the mysteries as their prayer(contemplation of the Mysteries) however just focusing on the words of the Holy Rosary is a very effective prayer too. As long as you see changes in your life for the good and you feel peace and loving more Jesus Christ then you are praying the Rosary right. I do not understand people praying the Rosary too fast though.

I feel the same, unsure whether to focus on the prayer or the mystery. I heard a priest on a video I was watching the other day, saying the Hail Marys are like the background music to meditation on the mysteries. However, I don’t feel completely right doing it that way. I sort of on occasion during the Hail Marys think about the mystery and the fruit of it. I have not found anyone explaining this side of the rosary 🙏

Yes, the Catholic Church believes that Jesus is the ONLY one who performed the role of Mediator between God and man by GIVING HIS LIFE on the cross so that the once broken relationship between God and man can be restored. That is exactly what Paul is saying in 1 Timothy 2:5 - 6. The Catholic Church asks Mary to PRAY FOR US but that doesn't mean that the Catholic Church believes that she GAVE HER LIFE in order to bring about reconciliation between God and man. That was done by Christ alone. There is a difference between PRAYING for someone and GIVING ONE'S LIFE on behalf of someone

New Catholic here: I've been praying the rosary nearly every day since 23rd January 2024 and a little before that. Previous to this I'd spent the last few years in a very bad place spiritually, physically and emotionally, addicted to many things which are bad for me and avoiding human contact as much as possible. During that period I contemplated suicide on many occasions and even prayed to God to take me. Looking back, it feels like a dark entity had taken over my life which wanted my destruction. Now, thanks to the intercession of our Mother - my Mother - I feel like Lazarus raised from the dead. I am out and about enjoying life with my youngest daughter, I go to church almost daily and I am pursuing holiness to the best of my ability and with the assistance of the Holy Trinity, the saints and the angels. I have experienced a total renewal of life and freedom from addiction (although I still struggle with masturbation and pornography (please pray for me) - but this is greatly reduced)). Please pray the rosary! It will change your life. Guaranteed!

Men find time to say the Rosary… you have to find the time wake up 30 minutes earlier in the day. Say it on your way to work say it on your way home for work say it during your lunch break don’t make excuses. Stay off your phone don’t listen to the Radio and focus on the mysteries of the Life of Jesus Christ.. ask the Holy Spirt to guide you with Rosary and ask Mary for her presence for peace and protection of distractions.
