Funnily enough. The actual game kind of had the same course. Although it was shut down in 2016, the fans picked it back up and since then it's been made entirely free and with two new civs! If you like Age of Empires I strongly suggest you try out Project Celeste and AoE Online

haha thoose games are complex... oh wait you were serious. Well heres a idea then, its just something I tought up right now. Dota dont need complex mechanics. Why? Because its complexness comes from the players.It doesnt need this much stuff to weigh Down the players because you will have to og up against others. Its difficulty is decided by how good and what kind of pleyer the other guy is. IN TW and Civ you largely play against the computer and thats why you need more stuff that can get you exited. I would say they are complex but I feel their gimmick is manily to give the players so much to do that it feels hard. If we for example take away total wars 4x mechanic it only got the Battles left and in thoose all you have to do is move araound units, who dont even have different skills to utilize and stats isnt that big a concern either. So yes maybe Dota is simplified in mechanics but it doesnt need it since it have it in other forms.

The battle of Thermopylae 480 BC. were against 300 spartans with 7000 greeks against 15,000 persian squad. The Sacred Band of Thebes just rekt the spartans in 4th century. I think that Athens were even more powerful in that period from Sparta, because of the battle of Marathon 490BC. 192 athens for 6,000 + persians (casualties) Great rulers of Egypt like Thutmose the Great or Ramesses II can easily win against any spartan army, because they had chariots and egyptian sickle which counter shield phalanx. Alexander conquered Egypt thanks to the Thracians, not the spartans or any other greek soldiers.

Interesting. Its not accurate when it comes to civilization but its still insane and cool. Its Egyptians + Vikings (judging by the wooden shields and leather armor when Egyptians usually use metal for both, correct me if I’m wrong.) And Romans + Spartans (judging by the armor style, how the helmets are changed, the color, and something else)
