Hi Justin, How to set up a door with certain distance from a wall? How to change a color (inside, outside) frame and door?

@@TheCGEssentials I find Bblender very user friendly.There are many things that are done with much more simplicity and intuitiveness compared to 3d max. Recently I could see how it can handle a 3d model imported from ProEngineering which for 3dmax 2021 is very heavy, but Blender handles it as if they were few polygons. (I have a rtx 2060 super) Model takes 5 minutes to open in 3dmax, Blender opens in less than 10 seconds! The scene has around 4000 objects for a total of 12 million polygons. The only thing I would like to have is the implementation of Corona render because I had been using it for years and I had practice and familiarity. But you should never stop learning new things, even at the age of 47!

I suppose that depends on what you're trying to achieve. Since there's not really a good way to actually create/print plans from Blender, it's somewhat limited

Hello, I was sent this video by Stephen Leger, I notice this drw walls is different from the video you did creating walls with wall, etc... difference in this video is you draw walls - in both videos you do windows and doors. the first one i watched had glass in the windows and doos this video the glass is not there... I wonder what was different in your settings... I can't get the windows to show as see through in either case ... any chance you may know a setting or two I can check to see why my windows are not transparent?

Really good videos!!! I am new to blender and with these videos and plugin I learned to build a house in a day. Of course, my flow was not as smooth as these videos but hey, I'm new. I am wondering if you have more advanced videos on this plugin. After completing the rough of my house, I have been trying to export it to have it work in other software. Primarily iClone 7. Where I can get the house into iClone, I am losing the roof textures and holes in the walls and roof where the house cuts in or extends out. I have read about applying boolean and triangulating but I must be doing something wrong. I have so many more questions but know this is not the place for that so... if you have videos that are a little more advanced, please point me to the URL. Your videos are really good in helping me fast track through Blender unlike others that go so fast I can only get bits and pieces. Thank you! 👍👍

This is on my wishlist! I'm curious can you edit a wall mesh in more detail after you created and still maintain its parametric features or you basically would need to bake it or "apply it" for that?

Hey Justin (and other fellow achipack users!). I am using the newest version of AP on a mac. I cant seem to figure out how to restart drawing a wall as you are demonstrating about 4 minutes into the video. Holding the 'ALT' key (option key for a mac) is not resulting in the restart of drawing the wall. Anyone know how to do this on a mac?
@FMDev1 Жыл бұрын
AH! Figured this out for whoever else might be having this issue. If you have 'Emulate 3 Button Mouse' enabled, this function wont work. If you disable this function, then it works correctly. To disable, go to Edit > Preferences > Input and under the Mouse dropdown, untick Emulate 3 Button Mouse.

One problem is that when snap to grid is enabled, I can't make perfectly orthagonal walls. They are about 1 degree slanted off 90 degree angles. The other problem is when I add windows and doors, it doesn't Boolean the wall.
@minadesign42952 жыл бұрын
You have to click the wall and use boolean (using Archipack) on the wall rather than on the windows or doors

So far, quite an unintuitive tool. As soon as I try adding walls with different widths using the draw wall tool, it puts them on random z height. Incredibly frustrating to try to work with. Your video helps somewhat, but the tool needs to be simplified. After more than an hour I still choose the wrong arrows when setting the angle between two walls. Luckily it's not that much money if I won't be able to grok it.

Sometimes I think the same - it's so much easier to figure halves, proportions, etc in metric. But then when I try to imagine spaces in meters (I'm in the US) I'm lost, so I sometimes switch between the two in the Measurements panel. I get into heated arguments about metric/imperial with my friends.
