Hi everyone! Let me know what you think about Archipack in the comments below!

Hi Justin! a great tutorial workflow would be showing how you can go from SketchUp model to arch pack/blender cycles to render and export back to SketchUp layout for accurate CAD plans. This is what I'm trying but it's slow progress! Ideally, I'd like to cut SketchUp out of the workflow so I'm just using Blender.

Hi Justin, Thanks for this great tutorial ! You should properly close your wall using the "close" parameter (let the wall without last segment bofore closing). I usually recommand the draw tool for walls as it is way faster once you master it. In wall's tools you'll then be able to generate floor / moldings / ceiling / roof / slabs automatically matching surrounding walls, however editing by hand also is usefull in some situations.
@TheCGEssentials3 жыл бұрын
First off - thanks for a great add-on! This definitely sounds like another great video idea talking specifically about using the draw tool to create the entire project - I wasn't aware that that would then generate floors/etc - thanks!

@@TheCGEssentials many thanks for another insightful and helpful vid. It would be great if you did a series on Archipack Pro, for example exploring whether it has the capability to export schedules, the range of roof features, layered/stacked/aggregated walls.

Can you make an option where i can configure the snapping distance? This is also a very useful function that can be found on Autocad, all the snapping in Autocad should be included, let me know if these things will be included some day in the future.

I 'm glad to notice after reading many comments here, that I 'm not the only one who has run into problems trying to use Archipack Pro. There's quite a few of them, but the most annoying is that I couldn't place a door or window on a wall that I had made without using Archipack, i.e. a wall that I had made by simply using the cube tool. Other problems: undoing is problematic, changing the size of an element by inputting dimension numbers on screen in most cases doesn't work, the section tool doesn't work (or it's not obvious how it can work), changing dimensions many times is troublesome as the scale factor changes with each different change and affects the new size. Justin have you come across these issues? Know any way round them? Or shall we just have to wait for an improved version?

update... i've actually emailed stephen at archipack about the pro release I received just yesterday... I followed everything to the tee, I double checked to make sure I was using an outside wall even... no mater what I try - I did everything on layout mode, have the same pictures of doors and windows like the video... it's just when I bring the door or window into my build they lose their color and the glass is more of a wood panel... not sure what release you have but it isn't the same as yesterday's... great tutorials though... this one sold me on Pro!

Have you tried adding interior walls once you have the outside walls created? I haven't seen a way to easily get measurements when adding interior walls - that is where to place a given interior wall. So maybe I am missing something. But once you get going you can put things together in a hurry. It seems well worth the money. The having to go back and readjust angles and lengths if you accidentally move a wall is a bit clunky but overall it's the best I have seen for Blender. Interested if others have a preferred tool.
@lazenbytim3 жыл бұрын
Yup nice start buddy, but we need more detail. for instance when youget to the second story, trying to add additional walls becomes problematic because you need to set the entry point specifically because other wise walls get added all over the place. Also editing walls and features needs to be covered because again that can be problematic. For instance a I drew a house with a basement and the stair went through a wall, trying to figure out how to delete the portion of the wall were the stair went through it is really difficult. Also I'm in the UK so feet and inches went out with the Ark.

I watch the architect pro tutorial, I've done all the downloads - I have the pro version downloaded - I added the libraries etc... I can draw walls etc and I can put in windows however nothing is anything close to what you show... I have no glass in windows (i have to click on panel to remove panel however it's just a hole in the window - no glass or anything and the trim is in color on yours - not mine... so If you have something set up differently that we don't know about I don't know what to do... where did yo get your training manual...

Quick question. I have a staircase modelled in archipack. I want to turn it into its own object though and clear all the archipack data off it. I just want it to be a normal object. How do I remove I remove all that junk data from my finished model? If I duplicate any part of an archipack mesh (Ctrl+P) it copies across all the manipulation features and stuff. Many thanks.

Hm, it's strange that the floor did not automatically adjust to the walls. In another video I saw that when you create a slab, it automatically connects to the walls. I tried, it did not work, it appeared separately and had to be manually adjusted. Later: oh, I found it - you have to use not the Create Slab tool, but use the small wrench button - from there you can create new objects that are attached to the wall.

It sure is a bargain for 49$. There are tools to extrude walls and windows directly from imported dxf plans! There are terrain and road tools. Railing and other features! I need to finish my current projects and try to ditch SketchUp for blender with archipack.
@TheCGEssentials3 жыл бұрын
There are some great tools in here for sure. That said, I don't necessarily think that even with this toolset it's an equivalent to SketchUp - just want you to make sure to actually TRY it and make sure it works before making a switch
