@MarvinG422 жыл бұрын
Screen Space Reflections are a different way to get reflections however these are by far not as accurate as done with Light Probes, if you don't get reflection with Reflections turned off, there might be something wrong elsewhere, most likely the correct positioning of you Light Probe.

Be sure to modify the Screen Space Reflections values in Eevee engine to remove artifacts and "crop like" effects ;) (in case it happens on your scene, of course)

How can I create an infinite reflections with Bounces in Eevee Blender 3.0 ? Somehow the render properties and Light path options changed Thanks a lot for this 😀
@emeth17984 жыл бұрын
Great tip thanks for the tutorial. Have you tried this with environmental HDR background for your lighting? And does the light probe have any adjustments if you don't want full reflection? Someone might want a partial reflection for certain applications.
@TheCGEssentials4 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure I understand the "partial reflection" request - why would you want partial reflections?
@emeth17984 жыл бұрын
If you have something metal that is not totally clear like a slightly brushed silver tea pot or similar items. I call this a partial reflection or maybe a blurred one. The HDR environment map while the transparency is turned off in the render tab sill reflects on objects like the hood of a car or window. You can see the world map slightly blurred on the hood of the car. I am trying to figure out how you turn of the world HDR map from any kind of reflection and still have the objects near the tea pot or car door have a slight or blurred reflection on these objects? But this may be a question for the forums.

Hello, I appear to be having a problem. Whenever I go to change roughness, there’s no slider. I think it may be set to the wrong type, but I’m not sure.

Do you have a map plugged in to roughness? If you have a map, then it's driving the value so you wouldn't have a slider...

Seems to me that the EEVEE solution leaves a lot to be desired. First, you have to create a new object (the probe) and position and scale it for every surface that you want to be reflective. I'm assuming that you can parent that object to the reflective plane so if you move it, the reflection probe goes with it. Second, is the reflection probe only available as a flat plane? Personally, I'd prefer to get rid of the separate plane objects entirely and have the reflective probe available as a material or shader option that could then be applied to any object. Problem solved.
@TheCGEssentials4 жыл бұрын
This is a pretty standard solution in most real-time rendering programs due to limitations in software at the moment. I don't think it can be done with a shader because it's specifically telling the engine where to calculate reflections from an area standpoint, but it's really not a lot of extra work. In fact, it kind of makes you actually think about where you need to see reflections in your renderings...
