Thanks again. I knew I should use Hooks for my canopy but forgot how they worked so I just seached for CG essentials Hook. You and the Blender Secrets guy are in my regular rotation when I need to "I know Kung-Fu" real quick

Never looked much into hook modifier at all but thanks to you and this video, I can see just how much I can use this in my creative workflow. Mind slightly blown :D

Wow ! I did not really test the hook modifier so far but it looks very useful. Thanks a lot for your detailed explanations.

Thanks for this, just used it to create a 2d character using only curves, allows the 2d curve to work in full 3d space(all 3 axis) and have multiple shapes(with separate colors/transparency) in 1 curve without overlap!!!

Justin, you make good tutorials. Informative, nice calm presentation, and you don't keep twitching the viewpoint like some others do. Where is your real dog though?

Okay, so I have some hoses connected to two objects with hooks, but when I hit play they all unhook from one end, but not the other. I can't find any explanation for this anywhere.

I'm always just amazed by the cloth mechanics in Blender. But yeah from an animation point, endless potential. Any chance you can do a full explanation/tutorial on animation? Not so much the technique (as animation is obviously vast) - but perhaps a full overview of all the settings and what everything does.
@TheCGEssentials2 жыл бұрын
Lol - probably not even that as the whole toolset is so big, but maybe something on different kinds of animation or something
@josephvanwyk20882 жыл бұрын
@@TheCGEssentials Haha - yeah, it is quite extensive. But when you quickly demonstrated the noise - I'm like, wow that exists?

1:40 Only a subset of the vertices are affected by the hook. I expect Vertex Group to show it, but it's empty. How can that be?
@pikachufan252 жыл бұрын
either A they Changes how it works or B i have a Addon that did something to it either case. if you are issues with the Pin to Cloth thing. Add Less Vertice Points to the Vertex Group Less is more in this Case. aka only Mark the Areas that you want Pin Down to be part of the Vertex Group. let the Hooks do the Movement Part :P

Thank you! Question for another topic… I occasionally use the #frame variable on materials to animate things like noise textures (#frame/1000) without having to use keyframes. I also often like to use blinking lights on some of my models using the cycle modifier, but this requires keyframes. Is there a way to cycle a parameter value to make loops occur in textures without keyframes? The #frame value only ever increases but I’m looking for a way to cycle between two numbers. Sorry if I’m not making sense.
