Major sahib i am from Kashmir and my father was in kargil due to his job , we shifted kargil before terrorism started. Some terrorists who when understood between what is wrong and what is right, they had two options either surrendered and spent the rest of life in jail and when they came out they were killed by terrorists. The other option was to escape to kargil and start a fresh life there. As we had the same tongue we talked to each other well. They said if terrorists are able to come with such deadly weapons in Kashmir it was due to BSF who had set a fixed price on the type of weapon to bring to the valley and they were a separate price tag on foreign and local terrorists. As a citizen of India it's my duty to ask questions why there is so much infiltration along Bangladesh (which is protected by BSF) were are Rohingyas comming from. I know it cannot be stopped 100% but how many cases we know where BSF claimed they caught illegal infiltrators like Army claims on every then and recently a politician claimed the active role of BSF in cattle smuggling in Bangladesh. BSF needs lots of changes and govt should think about it.

BSF is not policing job. BSF DG should be from Army or from BSF main cadre, not untrained and deputed IPS officers, who neither have requisite training nor adequate interest in the kind of job that BSF does.

Major - you believe or not but our BSF is still allowing bangladeshis/illegal immigrants to come in. earlier 300 rs was the rate to cross border from Bangladesh to India ,now it got increased to 10000 Rs. Many bangladeshi and rohingyas are still coming in, getting ration card from local TMC , making adhaar card and spreading across the country. Thanks Major Saab. Good to hear ur analysis for uniform usage of security forces, not too dependence on Army except in conventional war. This will help other forces to grow and acquire immense experience on handling cross border terrorism issues. But, one thing is sure that we should not take it granted that untimely transfer of Commander will lower the moral of the forces. We should hope for the best that the extraordinary Commander will come and change the scenario what is today. Many brilliant officers are waiting to get their opportunity. Jai Hind.

Maj Gaurav, this DG BSF into his 15 months as DG, had sufficient time to stop infiltration and he has Failed Miserably. Now Army has to firefight the terrorists. Don’t defend rather accept the Failure of DG. Cobra Battalions are second line of defence, they are fighting Maoists not Pakistan based trained Terrorists. AR guys are 10 times more potent and vicious than Cobras

I was thinking the same on last attack in Doda district... to deploy cobra battalion to Jammnu region. COBRA BATTALION are expertise in gurilla war.
