Hi, you need to select the stream source of overpressurization. In the example, NG400 in normal operation will have pressure below PSV set point. However, if the control valve fails open, pressure can increase up to NG operating pressure or PSV set point.

Hi Anicarlis, basically you need to have Aspen Basic Engineering (ABE) set in worder you can create a workspace on Hysys/Plus and issue PSV datasheet

HI, good work. can you please elaborate the critical velocity in outlet line sizing of PSV. As per API Psv tail pipe (outlet line) size on 0.7 Mach#. Does hysys use the same criteria? and this critical velocity is speed of sound at given process conditions?

Hysys to not size the pipe. You are able to verify the conditions adding pipe to your system.

I did not get the question Fuad. To place your PSV with Aspen Hysys you need to have at least a material stream fully specified. Scenarios will depend on what information you have available.

Hi Praneet, PSV on standard simulation and PSV in Safety Analysis are used in different ways. The main purpose of Safety Analysis is to allow you to calculate relief flow rate in different scenarios and base on that select PSV size. In the standard simulation you can use the orifice calculate on Safety Analysis. More about it in my telegram channel Inprocess. I will record an audio with my comments there. To get PSV datasheet you need to click on DataSheet avilable on the tab Home. It will link you to Aspen Basic Engineering (ABE) tool. If it is set, you will be able to select and print PSV report.

Hi Jayesh, my recommendation to run process simulation software is 8 GM RAM and 256 SSD as a minimum. I have a Dell with i5 processor. I do not see any need for separated graph processor.
